[audrey]

Audrey sighed and bent over to help Noob. "Yeah I guess you can say that." she said sadly while she helped him off the ground, "I know you might not to hear this but; you should probably just stay the fuck away from Brooke. It really isn't any of your fucking business plus Blane will kill you. Look, people have tried talking to Brooke before and nothing has worked, it's time for her to stand up to Blane and do something about it."

Tadhg allowed her to help him to his feet. If he kept this up he was going to be missing a lot more of school than he was attending.

"This goes deeper than talking to her," he said bitterly. Although that was becoming a part of the problem. "He's beaten the shit out of me twice already. . .and I'm getting pretty fucking sick of it."

[audrey]

"Well, don't call him a fuckass for starters." said Audrey with a hint of annoyance, "Just avoid the prick, I'm not telling you to hide from him, but don't go out of your way to be in the same place he is. And watch your mouth. Oh, and stick with me, he normally tried to avoid me; I think he thinks he's going to catch queer if he spends more than a few seconds near me."

[Tadhg Kelly]

"He keeps finding me," Tad said defensively. "I hate bastards who get away with that shit. You. . you have gay parents too?"

Tad thought he was mostly alone in that department and he found himself temporarily distracted.

[audrey]

Audrey raised her eyebrows.

"Wow. I've only hinted, pretty much came out and said, that I have two dads. . . and it's just hitting you now. . . .wow. I think Blanes been bashing your skull in harder than I thought. . . "Said Audrey, "but anyway. So you have two dads too? Small world, small world.'

[Tadhg Kelly]

"I had some other things on my mind," Tad said defensively. "I don't have to dads either. . .my dad's just seeign Brandon. . .they're not married or anything."

[audrey]

"Oooo." said Audrey, "So your dad is one of those queers that don't realize they're gay unil they're married and have kids and all that stuff. interesting. How did you deal with that? Better yet, how did your mom deal with that?"

[Tadhg Kelly]

"My mom left 5 years ago," Tad said quietly. "She didn't give two shits about it, so I heard."

[audrey]

"Oh, well isn't that something!" said Audrey brightly, "Serious, I didn't mean to upset you if I did. I usually very blunt about things."

[Tadhg Kelly]

"Well you didn't," Tad said carelessly. He didn't want to think about that stupid bitch anymore. "I'm fine with my dad being gay, though. It's cool that he finaly found soemone else. . .even if it is another dude."

[audrey]

"That's the spirit!" said Audrey giving Noob a light punch on the arm. "Your dad and his boyfriend should meet my dads. That would be a crazy evening. So what kind of queer is you dad anyway? Girly? Body builder? Leather man? drag queen? Almost passing for straight?"

[Tadhg Kelly]

"NO," Tad said quickly, but pretended to shrug it off. Leather men, drag queens? "Well I guesss he's kind of the passes fro straight type? I didn't know until this year that he was."

[audrey]

"Yeah, my one dad is like that, but the other is a flaming queer. He used to be a Marilyn Monroe impersonator before he met my dad." said Audrey.

[brooke]

Brooke allowed Blane to pull her away roughly, feeling her wrist bruising in the process. That would hurt tomorrow. She didn't look back at Tadhg or Audrey, but somehow knew what they were thinking. She must've looked awefully weak being pulled away like she was, and she wasn't doing anything about it.

She knew what they were thinking. She was being stupid, naieve, and childish. Was she? She had just been trying to avoid being beaten to death... was that so bad? Perhaps it was time for her to start standing up for herself. She didn't want the others to ignore her! most people already did because of Blane and how possessive he was, and she was just starting to make some new friends!

Just before Blane rounded the corner with her in tow, she caught him by surprise by pulling her arm out of his grip. She backed away a few steps. "No." Her own eyes widened in surprise, but she tried not to faulter. "I can speak to whomever I choose." Her eyes were glaring and her expression defiant. This felt very good... very liberating. Just the same, she was now very, very scared.

[blane]

Blane looked at Brooke. "Look, you know I'm only looking out for you." he said gently, rubbing her shoulder. "That new kid, and Audrey, they're just trouble. I don't want you getting mixed up in that type of crowd, ok? You know I do this because I love you, right? I just want what's best for you."

[brooke]

Brooke wanted so very badly to believe him. She believed him every other time. He had this was of sounding so sincere, even when he was so full of it. She shrugged his hand off of her shoulder. "Dont'... don't touch me." The red on her wrist was already starting to turn a little purple around the edges, but it was better now that Blane had let go. "They're not bad. At least Tadhg isn't... Audrey is a little out there, but okay enough. You just need to give people a chance. I'm pretty sure I'm competent enough to decide what's right for myself." What was she doing? There she went again, being all weak. She should turn, leave, never look back. She didn't mention the love part. She wasn't sure he was capable of feeling love.

"Look, I have to get to class," she said, trying to escape.

[blane]

Blane grabbed Brooke and pushed her against the lockers. "I'm telling you Brooke those assholes are no fucking good for you!" He let go of her and took a step back breathing hard. "See? See what you make me do? Why can you do what I fucking ask Brooke, huh? Fuck this shit, let's just get to class."

[brooke]

Brooke wanted to look down to hall to see if Tadhg and Audrey were watching. She wanted their approval, she wanted to know that what she was doing was right, because her mind had gone blank and she didn't know what to do any more.

Then Blane shoved her up against the lockers, and she froze. He pinned her there as he yelled at her, before taking a step back and blaming his actions on her not obeying him. She didn't want to let her emotions show, but she wanted to cry. A single tear of fear and sadness escaped through the corner of her right eye, but she ignored it.

"No. I... I don't want to go to class. Not right now... I can't do this." She was scared again, this was how she always got when Blane threatened her like that, and it was usually when she gave in. But she didn't want to give in.

"And don't blame this on me. What you do is not my fault." With that she spun around and ran down the hallway, past Audrey and Tadhg, not quite sure where she was running but not quite caring either.

[Tadhg Kelly]

Tad had heard what was going on and been ready to go down the hallway to help out, even if he did pay another lovely visit to the hospital, when he saw Brooke come running down the hallway, past them an ddown further yet.

He was torn between running down the hallway towards Blane to try and kick the shit out of him, and following after Brooke. He chose the latter and foollowed after her. He turned to Audrey while following.

"I guess I'll see you later."

[audrey]

"Remember what I told you!" Audrey called after him. Pity, he was kinda cute.
