"No, I haven't gotten around to telling Debbie yet," Tad said.
She was the next person on his list of places to go though. . .unless someone else had already gone to the diner, which would save him a trip. He did like the liberty diner though, Debbie was great and, well besides Jude, the waiters were generally nice.

"Whew," Michael said with relief, at his mother not being involved.
She meant well, she really did, but she'd probably just show up in some outrageous outfit with banners and cookies with rainbows on them and pins with My Son Michael Is Gay in purple lettering on them to pass out to random strangers. He shuddered slightly at the thought.
"Sorry! I got distracted, here, let me set up some over here."
"Don't worry about it," Micahel assured her. "My friends come in here all the time and I get distracted."

Brian pushed open the door to the comic book shop and glanced around at all the kids present. God this place was a magnet for teenage nerds. He was stopping in for no reason other than being bored on his lunch break, but he wouldn't tell that to Mikey or the kids. Of course, once he heard the discussion, thoughts of an excuse vanished.
"Like now," Michael said, noticing his entrance.
"Why the fuck is their going to be a drag show?" he well demanded to know moreso than asked.

"Funny you should ask!" said Desmond, popping into the Comic Book Shop. He'd been in the neighborhood putting up fliers for the event. When he was passing the shop he saw Tad through the window then he heard the man's question. What he didn't was that the an was Brian Kinney. Anyone who had ever set foot in Babylon knew who Brian Kinney was. He was piratically a legend to younger gays, but Desmond didn't let that phase him; he wasn't all that impressed by people who lived to fuck around. At the same time he wasn't about to hold that against Brian.
"We're raising support for Saint James' Gay Straight Alliance by hosting a Drag show." Desmond began. He knew to keep it brief because he had a feeling if it didn't involve sex it wasn't going to keep Brian's attention. "The bitch in charge of the Alliance of Christian students is trying to get out club disbanded from out school so we're fighting back by getting the gay community involved with our plight."

Brian rolled his eyes as he turned around. . .speaking of teenage nerds. . .one of he delightful emos entered. He supplied an answer and Brian felt a sarcastic smile spread across his face.
"And so naturally the little band of superfag dogooders rose to the occasion by coming to Mikey," he finished, with a derisive shake of his head. "Well you'll forgive me if I don't show my support, I'll have someone more interesting to attend then I'm sure."

((AW HELL TO DA NAW!))
Desmond didn't expect anything less from Brian Kinney. It still pissed him the fuck off though. Desmond was usually a very calm person, but he was not about to take shit from Brian Kinney. And Desmond was also very on edge as of late.
"Wow, calling me a 'superfag dogooders' because I don't want the douche bag Heteros to win." said Desmond coldly, coming right up to Brian. Christ he hated tall people. Desmond wasn't short, he was 5' 11", but people like Garrett and Kinney here always made him feel so short. "I understand that you don't give a fuck, but that doesn't mean you can shit all over those of us who do."

((Dude. . .no one talks to Brian Kinney like that. . .))
Brian raised an eyebrow as he turned to look at Mikey with his all too often used : id this kid serious look. Every time he came into this store, some new kid was in who felt the need to prove he could stand up to him.
"You're right I don't give a fuck," Brian said with a careless little shrug. "Which is why I don't see how parading around in a bunch of dresses will help any of you out in the slightest. Sounds like a job for Miss Honeycutt if you ask me. . .all that ridiculous spectacle."
He rolled his eyes and made a slightly exasperated expression at Michael, pulling out a cigarette and placing it between his lips. He sighed again and stuck it back in his carton at Michael's offended gesture and sound. Just because it was a store full of paper. . .

Desmond knew there was no point arguing with Brian; the asshole was so full of himself that there was no way Desmond would ever be able to prove him wrong. All he could hope for was getting under his skin.
"Well if you have a better idea, let's here it." said Desmond. He removed his Dior sunglasses and got a better look a brain. "Oh, oh my," he said, looking up at Brian's hair line, "I-is that a gray hair? Is that actually a gray hair on Brian Kinney? Oh my lord, it must suck to be thirty."

Brian turned to look at the little emo fag with his lip curling up into a slight sneer. His half opened eyes fell upon Desmond in a withering stare.
"I wouldn't know, I'm not thirty, but I do know a thing or two more about sucking than you do," Brian said with a simpering smile. "And like fuck I've got a gray hair. . .I'd dye before i let it go gray."
Little twat, he added mentally. He would of course double check when he went home tonight to make sure he wasn't graying, but he was sure he didn't have any gray hairs. . .probably. . .

"Oh, you're not thirty?" said Desmond, "Well, then you look pretty damn good for Forty."
but I do know a thing or two more about sucking than you do
Desmond couldn't help, but laugh. "Yeah, I bet you do," he said, wiping a tear away from his eye. Brian Kinney just admitted to sucking, and Desmond wasn't taking it as the good kind. He was delighted that he had obviously gotten to Brian.
"Oh, and I suppose the dying would explain why I never noticed any gray hairs before, but I've also never seem you in proper lighting; only ever in Babylon. You know, dying may hide the truth from everyone else, but it will never hide the truth from you."

Brian didn't even smile at Desmond when he made the joke about him being 40. He raised an eyebrow at Mikey in mild disbelief and made a mental note to avoid coming here any time before school let out.
"Oh to be young and retarded," he said with a mockingly fond sigh.
"Oh, and I suppose the dying would explain why I never noticed any gray hairs before, but I've also never seem you in proper lighting; only ever in Babylon. You know, dying may hide the truth from everyone else, but it will never hide the truth from you."
"You must severely challenged," he said in his deadly calm voice, reminiscent of the calm before a storm. "Otherwise that lovely little high school education of yours has all been a waste of time if you can't do a simple little thing like understand sarcasm or hypothetical situations."

Michael, sensing the trouble that was brewing, stepped in between Brian and Desmond. He put a hand on Brian's shoulder and shot Desmond a warning sort of look. He then took two of the fliers from Tadhg.
"Well," he said awkwardly. "Let's see about hanging some of these fliers up, huh?"

Desmond opened his mouth to retaliate, but Michael stepped between the two of them. Desmond gave Michael an apologetic look; he really hadn't meant to cause trouble, but Kinney had started it! Desmond had walked in there with the best of intentions and Brian was extremely rude. Surely Michael hadn't expected him to take that? Desmond might have been a jolly person, but he didn't let people walk all over him.

Michael got some tape out from behind the counter. He noticed Desmond's look and felt slightly bad. No one ever seemed to understand Brian quite like he did. Everyone saw him as this heartless prick, but he knew that deep down Brian cared. . about things. People just didn't understand that fighting back against Brian only made things worse for them in the end.
He sighed slightly as he went to the front of the store and taped up the drag show advertisements facing outside. He turned back to look at Desmond and lightly slappe dhis forehead.
"Sorry, was there something I could do for you?" he asked.

"No it's ok," said Desmond, "I was just walking by and I heard someone ask about the drag show so I popped in to answer them. I didn't know it was an asshole who was asking the question. I'm sorry, that was rude of me, I know he'd you're best friend. . . but is he like this all the time or did he just not fuck enough last night?"

"He's always like this," Michael said smiling jokingly a Brian who gave him a half smile, as though he was proud, in return. "Brian always fucks enough."
The last part his said with an almost wistful look. Unlike him. He would kill to be half the guy Brian was. . .or even one of the guys Brian had fucked.

"Oh," said Desmond, completely unsurprised by Michaels response. "I should have figured as much; I know what it's like to have a bitch for a best friend as well." Desmond rolled his eyes and thought about Audrey and her bitchy ways. She probably would have had close to the same responses as Brian in that situation. Only thing was that she was for the Drag show and not being a total asshole about it.
