Faye unlocked the door and took a cautious step inside, carefully listening for any sign that her parents were home early. The television was off, however, and no voices could be heard echoing through the house. Nope, they were still at work.
"Come on in," she said, kicking off her slip-on grey shoes into the corner by the stairs. She motioned for him to follow her into the downstairs hallway bathroom. Behind the mirror was the medicine cabinet, stocked with bandages and antibacterial creams like Neosporin. "Help yourself. I'm going to grab a soda. Do you want anything to drink? Or eat, if you're hungry?"
She figured he could clean up on his own and didn't need her hovering over him all the time.

Garrett came inside her house and looked around. Sure he'd already been there, but her house was so much different from his and he liked to look around. He followed her suit and pulled of his size 13 black school shoes, leaving them beside hers. He knew where her bathroom was and made a detour to it.
"I'll have a soda, thanks," he called as he stepped inside her bathroom.
He closed the door slightly and pulled off his school shirt and tie, noticing the large bruises forming on his chest. He sighed and opened the medicine cabinet, retrieving the peroxide, neosporin and and bandaids. He shut the mirror and got a good look at his face. Great, he thought, just great.
He turned the water on and washed the blood off of his face. He grimaced at the pink tinted water. He then unscrewed the peroxide and poured some on his cheek. He sucked in his breath painfully as the wound bubbled white to show the dirt that had gotten into it. Grumbling to himself, he put a dab of neosporin on before putting a bandage across his cheek.

Faye hated to see Garrett like this but knew that there was nothing she could do about it. Every time she wanted to call someone, like child services or the police, but she knew that it wouldn't do much. Garrett would be a legal adult soon enough, and if they didn't arrest his father then he'd just make life even worse for Garrett in the meantime. Not that she could imagine him being worse to Garrett, but... yeah.
She retrieved two chilly sodas from the fridge and placed them on the counter, opening one as she flipped through the TV guide and waited for Garrett to emerge from the bathroom. She heard the sharp intake of breath as he put the peroxide on his wounds and grimaced herself.
Oh, Garrett, she thought to herself with a sigh.

((Way to pass up a perfectly good opportunity to see Garrett shirtless ::sighs: Garrett wiped off the remaining water with one of the towels hanging up in the bathroom; careful not to get any blood on it. He pushed open the door and got only one foot out the door before remembering his school shirt. . .which had blood on it. Fantastic. He poked his head out into the hallway, facing the kitchen and Faye. "Hey, could I borrow a shirt or something?" he asked, his voice carrying in the empty house. "I --uh-- mine's stained."

((ooc- you never said he put it back on, so I'm totally getting a look now. Hahaha))
Faye could see from his head poking out into the hallway that the area of chest below it was definitely bare. Oh, what her parents would've said if they had walked in to see a shirtless boy in their bathroom.
"Yeah, no problem," she said. In walking by the bathroom to go upstairs and find a shirt for him she couldn't help but sneak a glance at shirtless Garrett. He really did have a nice body... though she noted the bruises forming on his chest and her heart hurt a little more for him.
After about three minutes she emerged down the stairs triumphantly. "Here you go! I hope it's okay... it was my older brother's, we have a box of his old stuff in the closet still..." She had found one that wouldn't be overly baggy but also one that wouldn't be uncomfortably tight because of the bruises. Hopefully it would fit rather well!
As she handed him the shirt through the bathroom door she had to force herself not to stare.
((ooc- you can make up the color. ^_^ I don't feel like it.))

((oh nice, lol))
Garrett waited while Faye went upstairs to look for a shirt, grateful that she had an older brother roughly his height and build. As she handed him the shirt, he glanced down at his own chest, this time not noticing just the bruises. He flushed a little, as he pulled the shirt over his head.
"Thanks," he said with a sheepish grin. "It's fits all right."
He flicked the bathroom light off and swept the bandaid wrappers into the trashcan. He walked into the hallway next to Faye and looked towards the kitchen.
"So what kind of soda are we looking at, here?" he asked to break the silence.

"Good," she said. She was glad that she could find a shirt that fit him well. If she underestimated then it would've hurt his bruises, but if the shirt had been too big she didn't want him to think that she thought he was fatter than he was or anything silly like that. She realized that she needed to turn her mind off and stop over analyzing everything, though it was hard for her to do that. She always thought too much... sometimes more than was good for her.
"Uh... coke. But we have Sierra Mist and Dr. Pepper if you want those instead," she offered, almost missing the question at first due to being lost in her own thoughts.

"Oh, no coke's fine," Garrett said, scratching at the hairs on the back of his neck.
He had a sudden dawning realization that he and Faye were alone for the first time in her house. All the other times her parents had been in the room with them or the next room over. Despite the fact that he was often left home alone at his place, it was a sort of liberating feeling.
He started to walk into the kitchen, already knowing his way around a bit, and picked up the coke that hadn't been opened. With a hissing sound, he popped the lid off ((Are they cans?)) and took a gulp of the soda, carefull to avoid the carbination on his split lip. (Oh yes, on a sidenote, the shirt was green, accentuating his eyes. . .forgot to pick a color.) He noticed the tv guide left on the counter, and looked over at Faye.
"Anything good on tonight?"

Faye had the same realization as Garrett at roughly the same time. They were completely alone inside of her home, safe with the knowledge that her parents wouldn't get home from work for at least another hour. Sometimes they ran even later than that. And while this knowledge changed their situation significantly from their previous encounters she tried not to let it show.
She picked up her own can ((sure, they can be cans)) and took another sip to cover for the fact that she wasn't quite sure what to say to break the silence.
"Anything good on tonight?"
"Just the usual," she said, looking over at him. They were a mere foot apart and she didn't know what came over her. Normally she was very refined and over analytical about everything, but for once she just wanted to give in to her impulses and whims... which is just what she did. In one swift movement she closed the gap between the two of them and locked her lips with Garrett's. It seemed like forever since they had really kissed, like that first time in his car after the dance. Not a quick peck, or a kiss in the hallway knowing teachers were around every corner, but an honest-to-goodness kiss. Though she was extra careful to avoid the end of his lip which was cut. She realized now the problem that may pose.
It was nice, and she hoped that it hadn't been unwanted on Garrett's end.
((ooc- that is complete and utter crap and a sign that I need to go to bed now.))

((Oh quite yer bitchin' it's fine.))
"Yeah I figured," Garrett said, putting his coke back down on the counter top.
Just in time too because Faye was on him shortly thereafter. She pressed her lips into his and he had a moment of wide eyed bliss before he pressed back into the gesture. He found that he was able to ignore the minimal amount of pain in his lip during the kiss. He had a feeling he'd have been able to ignore it even if the pain had been worse.
He hesitantly placed a hand behind her neck as he kissed her, not wanting to accidently hurt her. Not that he would, he just knew from personal experience that the neck was a sensitive area.

There was a pause during which Garrett didn't seem to respond at all. She was afraid that maybe the kiss had been unwelcomed. Perhaps she had been too abrupt, or maybe it was hurting his lip. She wondered for only a second before he kissed back, pressing against her and wrapping an arm around her neck. She smiled into the kiss.
She placed one arm around his waist and another on his back... but gently, in case there were any bruises there as well.
After another moment she pulled away. "I'm..." she started, blushing only slightly. "I swear I didn't invite you over just to corner you like this," she said, laughing slightly. "I'm going to go change out of this, now that I think about it. Uh... make yourself at home. Turn on the television if you want, I'll be right back down!"
As much as she would've liked to continue their make-out session she felt rather gross from her run in the sweat shirt and sweat pants still. She would be much more comfortable in something else... plus, it would give them the chance to move out of the kitchen, which really wasn't the best spot to do anything along the romantic lines.

Faye pulled away, and Garrett flicked his eyes open in respnose. He noticed her blush and felt a smile spread across his face.
"I swear I didn't invite you over just to corner you like this."
". . .I was hoping," Garrett said jokingly.
"I'm going to go change out of this, now that I think about it. Uh... make yourself at home. Turn on the television if you want, I'll be right back down!"
As she left to go change out of her sweats, Garrett merely shrugged and grabbed his soda. He made his way out to her living room and sat down on the sofa -- his bed when he'd spent the weekend here. He looked around for the remotre, and once he found it, turned the power on. He began to fick throught the channels looking for something interesting.

". . .I was hoping,"
Faye smiled, albeit bashfully, back up at Garrett. She knew there had been some awkward tension while he had stayed the weekend of what would be acceptable for her parents since they always seemed to be watching. She usually only gave him a quick peck on the lips, not wanting to test the waters too much this early on. She had just been thankful that her parents had agreed to let him spend the weekend!
Faye heard the television set click on as she ran upstairs to change. She searched through her closet before settling upon a simple pair of blue jeans, grey slip-on shoes, and a dark purple sweater. Figuring it couldn't hurt, she also quickly applied some light eyeshadow and mascara. After all, it never hurt to look good.
Faye grabbed her soda off of the kitchen table as she made her way over to the sofa to join Garrett.
"Find anything interesting?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow as she took the open seat next to him.

"Lookin' good," Garrett said with a smile as Faye came back in a completely different outfit. ((resisted the urge to add Beasley to the end of that))
"Find anything interesting?"
His arm had been resting casually along the back of the sofa where Faye now sit, and he didn't bother moving it: hi figured Faye wouldn't mind. He was still new at this whole girlfriend thing and the girl scene. He'd tried things with a few of Pat's college friends, but nothing had been like this. (Meaning the girls' had either rejected him or taken the reigns.)
"Not really," he admitted. "I don't know what's on Monday nights." ((That's when Prison Break is on right?))

"Lookin' good,"
"Thanks," Faye said with a smile. "I couldn't stand being in that sweat suit any longer! This is much more comfortable." This last statement was a partial lie. She was more comfortable hanging out with Garrett now that she didn't look like she'd just ran a marathon all covered in sweat. The jeans and sweater were not actually more comfortable, though. Nothing was more comfortable than a good pair of sweatpants.
She didn't do a thing about his arm being around the back of the chair, which was now directly above her shoulders.
"Of course, nothing good comes on TV until about 8 on any night," she pointed out. "Just reruns of old stuff and cartoons, really. We do have about six different nickelodeon stations, in case you were interested."
Faye laughed at this, though it was true. Satellite television really was a wonder.

"Good," he said in response to her outfit being more comfortable. If she felt more comfortable she wouldn't be afraid to be more comfortable around him -- or at least that's what he was hoping. Besides, at least one of them should be comfortable tonight.
He noticed she didn't say anything to against the location of his arm, which was a good thing. Although he hadn't really expected her to protest.

"All right," Garrett said with a laugh. "That's what I'm talking about."
He flicked the channels up to the special nick stations and let Legens of the Hidden Temple relpace the previous show.

Faye was a girly-girl at times, there was no doubt about it. She often found that if she put some effort into her appearance she felt a thousand times better about herself. It was pretty astonishing what a good hair day can do to a girl's self-esteem! So as soon as she was out of her sweat pants from her run and back into jeans she felt tons more comfortable. That's just how she was.
"That's what I'm talking about."
Faye couldn't suppress a slight giggle; she knew that most people loved a good cartoon every now and again, but she hadn't honestly expected Garrett to jump at the nickelodeon channels!
"It's nice to know I'm not the only one left who appreciates quality Y7 programing," she commented, shaking her head with an amused grin on her face. "Jeeze, I haven't seen this show in years! What were they... ah, right, the Purple Parrots. Them, and the Blue Barracudas. My two favorite colors, and my two favorite teams!" she laughed.
