Brooke was glad that she and Tadhg had managed to patch things up. At the Homecoming Dance things had gotten pretty out of control, and she knew that after having Blane kiss her and seeing Vinnie drive her home there were so many wrong impressions that Tadhg could’ve left with… not to mention the whole “love” fiasco that ensued. She was relieved when the two of them had been able to talk it out and see that this was something they could grow from, leave behind, and then continue on.
Brooke had been rather busy with Cheerleading, especially since they had to make up for the loss of a squad member as well as their upcoming competition. It was only a week away, and the squad was meeting more frequently to go over some new routines as well as perfect some old ones. It seemed like any free time she had any more had to be spent studying so she could keep her grades above a C! Miraculously, she had managed to get both a day off of work AND a day off of practice.
Tadhg had offered up his house for them to meet up at, since his dad was going to be out for the greater part of the night. She wasn’t sure what they’d end up doing… watch a movie, play some video games… but she was sure it would be a much welcomed stress reliever from her past week! She knocked on the door to his apartment, rocking back and forth from the balls of her feet to her heels as she waited for her knock to be answered.

Tadhg was in the kitchen looking for a snack, not entirely sure when Brooke would be coming over. He was tempted to eat some of the cold vegetarian pasta his dad had made the previous night for his new friend Marc. Marc was apparently a vegetarian, and his dad had offered him some dinner when he'd come over. He didn't think that wining and dining a booty call was appropriate, but far be it from him to interfere and besides which the pasta tasted pretty damn good.
He and Marc hadn't had the best of meetings: seeing Marc straddling his father with his girlfriend beside him, wasn't exactly his idea of a good how do you do, but the guy was at least polite.
He heard a knock on the door , and set the gladware container on the counter. He shut the refrigerator door with his foot -- he'd taken his chucks off once he'd gotten home form school -- and went over to get the door. He knew it'd be Brook, at this time, there wasn't much of a chance that it'd be anyone else. He pulled open the door and lo and behold, there she was. He grinned and held out an arm to let her into the apartment.
"Hey there," he said. "Do you need to borrow a cup of sugar?"

"Hey there," he said. "Do you need to borrow a cup of sugar?"
Brooke repressed a smirk as she slid through the doorway with her usual grace, making her way past Tadhg with his outstretched arm and into the general living/hallway space that was immediately inside of the doorway. She had to admit that being with Tadhg was a nice change from her lifestyle the past year or so. It was nice to be able to spend time with someone just hanging around in an apartment… not to mention being able to go on dates that didn’t involve crazy drunken parties. So nice.
“No thanks, I think I’m sweet enough already,” she replied, the repressed smirk spreading across her face from cheek to cheek. She knew it was corny-funny, but she didn’t care about making stupid jokes. At least, not around Tadhg. She was still a bit self-conscious around her cheerleader-friends – what was left of them ever since her Blane fiasco – but she was getting better. Things were good.
Brooke turned in her spot so that she was facing Tadhg as he (I can only assume) closed the door. “What’s new with you, Chef Tadhg?” she asked, her gaze resting upon the pasta container on the nearby tabletop. It seemed like forever since they’d had a decent conversation, and she wanted to make sure she was caught up on any late-breaking news in the world of Tadhg Kelley. Things sure had been interesting lately, that was for sure.

"Don't I know it?" Tad said with a mischievous grin, kissing her on the lips and then pulling away to make his way over to the pasta.
"Well Chef Tadhg is making his specialty today," he said knowledgeably. "Leftover vegetarian spaghetti. . .the secret is there's no meat in the sauce."
He nodded conspiratorially at her and then glanced back at the pasta.
"Hungry?" he asked.

Brooke was glad for the kiss; it served to remind her that she was in a normal, loving relationship again. She hated to think that she had almost screwed this whole thing up by overreacting to everything, but chided herself for even thinking back to those events. She had promised herself that she'd forget about all of that. After all, things had worked themselves out, and so it was obvious that she and Tadhg were destined to be together for at least a little bit longer.
"Well Chef Tadhg is making his specialty today," he said knowledgeably. "Leftover vegetarian spaghetti. . .the secret is there's no meat in the sauce."
"Vegetarian? Don't tell me you're in on the whole health-conscious craze now too," she joked, knowing that her mother was at home prepping celery for a snack later. Yummy.
"Hungry?"
Brooke eyed the pasta curiously, and ended her internal debate with a shrug. "I suppose I'll have a little... I'll take the leftovers of the leftovers," she decided, laughing a little. "After all, it would be an insult to the chef to turn that offer down, wouldn't it?" she joked, knowing full well that Tadhg probably didn't have any part of the pasta-cooking process.

Tad had decided to forget the whole ordeal the other day had ever happened. Life was too short to spend it worrying over things like. . .whether or not a kiss lasted a few seconds longer than he would have liked. Especially when he could spend his time doing some kissing instead.
"The vegetarian thing's for Marc. . .my dad's recurring booty call," he said eating a spoonful of cold pasta. "You remember him don't you?"
He chuckled as he got out two bowls and poured the noodles into each one of them. He popped them in the microwave for a minute and a half.
"It's actually pretty good," he informed her. "So, what d'you want to do tonight?"

"The vegetarian thing's for Marc. . .my dad's recurring booty call. You remember him don't you?"
Brooke laughed a little, surprised that Tadhg was so comfortable using the term 'booty call' when talking about his own father. Of course, she hadn't forgotten Marc at all. Quite the opposite, really; she was sure that their first encounter would be burned into her memory forever.
"How could I forget?" she joked, smiling in case he may have thought she was actually bothered by the events. His father had been very kind, if not a little awkward, about it after the fact, but she got along with Tadhg's father well enough that it didn't bother her that he was gay, or that he had 'booty calls'. It wasn't her business anyway.
"It's actually pretty good,"
"I should hope so," Brooke pointed out. "Considering you offered me some and all."
"It's actually pretty good,"
Shrugging, Brooke found her gaze resting upon the microwave timer, which was steadily counting down from 1:30... 1:29... 1:28... 1:2---
"Doesn't matter to me, so long as it doesn't involve cheering, clapping, pompoms, or my being thrown ten feet into the air. Nearly broke my leg yesterday because one of the freshmen wasn't in place-" she said pointedly before smiling again.

Tadhg made a face at her words. A sort of eurgh face . .at the thought of them walking in on his dad. HE then frowned when she mentioned the restrictions.
"Aww man now I totally have to find a movie besides Bring it On for us to watch," he said with a pout.
The microwave beeped and he pulled out the now warm noodles, handing Brooke a bowl and fork.

Brooke couldn't help but laugh at the face Tadhg pulled. So at least he was bothered by the thought of his dad having sex. She knew that she didn't even want to think about her own parents... eurghgrossyuck. Shaking those thoughts away, she turned her attention back to what they would do for the night.
"Aww man now I totally have to find a movie besides Bring it On for us to watch,"
"Sorry," she said, feigning sincerity. "I know how much you love to watch that movie, too. You'll just have to watch it on your own after I leave."
Taking the bowl of noodles and fork from Tadhg, she took a small tester bite to make sure she liked them. A small smile spread across her face.
"These are pretty good," she said. Brooke visited Tadhg's house enough that she felt comfortable with entering the living room area and settling down on the sofa, making herself at home. "Thanks."

"What can I say?" he said. Stuffing the container back in the fridge. " I reheat a mean bowl of leftovers."
He made his way into the living room and popped a movie into the dvd player before taking a seat beside Brooke. He wrapped the arm with the remote in it around Brooke's shoulder. He set the bowl in his lap, so the arrangement could work.
Never really mentioned this. . .which I like to do. . . Tad had changed out of his school attire. He was wearing a pair of slightly ripped jeans, a black studded belt which wasn't for show and was in fact holding up his pants, a dark grey t-shirt with a skull and two crossed swords on it to symbolizes The Goonies, and a pair of argyle socks.
"Hope you don't mind, but I was kind of feeling like A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen tonight," he said.

"What can I say? I reheat a mean bowl of leftovers."
Waiting for Tadhg to put in the movie he had selected, Brooke tried to sneak a glance at it, curious as to what he might have picked. They usually avoided any gushy romance movies, since even Brooke wasn't really a huge fan of them. But comedies were always nice, and she was a pretty big fan of action-style movies, which wasn't surprising considering her love of comics also.
Brooke shifted her weight a little under Tadhg's arm so that she was in a comfortable movie-watching position. One of the things she had come to realize was that when Tadhg put his arm around her it was comforting. When Blane had done it, the gesture had always been a possesive one. She hadn't realized that it could mean anything else until recently.
"Hope you don't mind, but I was kind of feeling like A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen tonight,"
"Oooooooh, Sean Connery! I'm in," she said, smiling. "I haven't seen this in a while, actually. Which is sad, considering the fact that I own it."

"That's very sad," Tad said in mock remorse. "Well this'll be a chance to fix that problem."
He pressed play and the movie came on. . .((dude lessie what're we gonna do now? is Tad gonna have to do all the work?))

((ooc- Not all the work... just most of it. Hehehe! J/k, Brooke'll do her share of the work.))
The movie came on and Brooke settled down with her pasta, comfortable with Tadhg's arm around her. In about fifteen minutes the pasta was done, and Brooke leaned back into the sofa a little more, resting her head against Tadhg's shoulder.
They were about an hour into the movie when Brooke looked up at Tadhg, and caught his gaze with her own. She smiled up at him, and there was something sweet about that moment. For once she didn't have any worries on her mind. She was free to relax and just enjoy her time with her boyfriend, something that didn't happen often.
Sensing that this was one of those 'moments', Brooke took the initiative to prop herself up a little better on the sofa, leaning in to capture Tadhg's lips in her own. She hoped he wouldn't mind the interruption to the movie for a moment or two.

Tad had practically inhaled his pasta, as he was so prone to doing. He inhaled most of his food and yet never seemed to gain any weight: not that he was skinny, he just had a fast metabolism.
He sat there in comfort, watching Allan Quartermain kick ass and take names, until Brooke leaned in and kissed him. He had long since placed his pasta bowl on the side table, and turned slightly to angle himself towards her. He didn't mind the distraction, he'd seen the movie plenty of times before.
He kissed her back, allowing his free hand to move to her face. He wondered, on some level, if she wanted to go further, or if it had just been an "in the moment" kiss. Well he was sure he'd find out soon if she didn't want to or not: he expected she'd move away or. . . give him a slap upside the head or something. He kissed her again, almost experimentally, and allowed his fingers to slip into her chocolate locks.

Brooke had only meant for it to be a quick kiss, but she lingered a little as Tadhg turned towards her and brought a hand to the side of her face. She was glad that he kissed her back, though. It was a rare thing for the two of them to have any real alone time, and she was glad for the intimate moment.
He kissed her again, sliding his fingers through her hair as he did so. Brooke sat completely upright now, leaning into the kiss and bringing her own hand to rest on his shoulder. The movie was completely forgotten in the background, though Sean Connery's voice provided the room's ambiance.

Tad, took her lack of bludgeoning him as a sign that what he was doing was all right: not that Brooke had ever hit him, he'd watched movies. . .he figured that's what girls did. He let his hand wander down a ways slightly. . .to her waist. . He shifted around so that he was facing her fully, leaning over her slightly.
Deciding, to take things a step further, he let go of her face and waist, but continued kissing her. He let his fingers find the edges of his grey t-shirt and pulled it up an over his head, breaking away for a second as he did so.
Despite what most people believed about his scrawny physique, Tad was actually pretty nicely toned: he just lacked body fat. He didn't exactly have washboard abs, but he was more than content with what he did have.
After tossing it to the ground beside the sofa, he put his hand around the back of her neck, careful not to seem like he was being hostile. He let his free hand wander back to her waist, his fingers curling ever so slightly around the bottom of her shirt.
He didn't think they were going to have sex at this point, and if she didn't want to take off her shirt, he wouldn't make her, but he really wouldn't mind if she did.

Tadhg's hand moved to her waist, but stopped there. She kept her hand where it was for the time being. He was leaning over her a little now, and since they were on the sofa she found herself falling back into almost a laying position.
It was just then that Tadhg took both of his hands off of her. She thought that he was about to break off the kiss, but ended up doing just the opposite. He started to take off his shirt, and their kiss broke for a moment as the grey fabric passed between the two of them. She couldn't help but admire the fact that he was nicely toned; something that wasn't always noticeable with the t-shirts he often wore. A smile crossed her face before he threw his shirt to the ground and put his arm around her neck again, pulling their lips together.
She could feel his free hand playing with the bottom of her own shirt and took a moment to think this through. She had rushed things with Blane, and it had ruined their relationship early on. She didn't want to do that this time around. And yet, there was no real harm in taking her shirt off.
Taking Tadhg's free hand in her own, she grabbed onto her shirt and pulled it up over her own head, once more breaking their embrace for a moment as she threw the clothing to the floor. Luckily, she was wearing a rather cute black bra with pink lace. She leaned back more on the sofa so that Tadhg was leaning over her, the top of her back resting on the arm of the sofa, allowing one arm to rest on his chest and the other to run through his hair, pulling him closer against her.

Jon had gone out grocery shopping this evening. He'd told Tad he'd be gone most of the night thinking he'd stop at the Big Q, and then perhaps at a movie rental store and perhaps the liquor store if he felt like it. However he'd ended up not stopping by the Big Q at all, and he'd opted against the liquor store, deciding he'd stop by tomorrow after work if he still felt like it.
He turned the knob out of habit, to see if it was locked. It wasn't, which was a pleasant surprise, and he opened the door with the two bags of groceries on either arm. He went into the kitchen with hardly a sound and put down the two bags on his right arm beside the counter. He glanced around for some sign of Tad, thinking to ask him to help with the groceries. . .when he noticed something in the living room. There was a movie on, but it didn't seem lik eit was being watched. He sighed and made his way towards the TV.
"Tad, I've asked you at least a dozen times, if you're not watching--oh Fucking hell!!" he said rounding the counter and dropping his two remaining bags.
There was his son, shirtless and on top of his girlfriend . .also shirtless. This house seemed like the spot for awkward moments to catch each other in. He covered his eyes with is hand and turned his head away.
"Oh God--- I'm --I should have called to say I'd be home early--" he stuttered. "Tad could you put your clothes back on so I could have a word with you in the kitchen?"

Tad smiled as she too took off her shirt. Brooke was beautiful, and he rather liked the little lacy pattern on her bra. As she moved back so she could rest on the sofa's arm, he let his right arm wrap around her back above the the armrest. As she put her fingers in his hair to bring him closer, he switched to kissing at her neck and then throat, moving slightly to her collar bone. Over the movie and the mood, he didn't hear his dad's soft footsteps on the grey carpet.
"Tad, I've asked you at least a dozen times, if you're not watching--oh Fucking hell!!"
At the sudden sound of his father's shocked voice, he jumped slightly. He slid to the floor with a dull thud and landed on his back.
"Jesus, dad--!!" he said scrambling to put on his shirt. God, could life in his house get anymore twisted? He shot Brooke a mortified look, before following his dad into the kitchen Which wouldn't make much of a difference as it opened into the living room.
((I'll wait to post with Jon again Erica so you can have a chance to react.))

Brooke wasn't paying any attention to her surroundings any more. Lost in the heat of the moment, the entire background of Tadhg's house sort of blended together. It was no surprise then that she didn't hear the front door open, nor did she notice the extra person in the house.
"Tad, I've asked you at least a dozen times, if you're not watching--oh Fucking hell!!"
Brooke froze at first, unsure of what was happening, until everything clicked in her head.
"Shit," she muttered. Tadhg jumped off of her and off of the sofa, falling to the floor in one very ungraceful motion. Brooke instinctively brought her arms up to her chest, covering her bra as a fierce blush covered the entirety of her face.
"Oh God--- I'm --I should have called to say I'd be home early-- Tad could you put your clothes back on so I could have a word with you in the kitchen?"
Brooke watched Tadhg put his shirt back on and quickly make his way into the adjoining room. Brooke also decided that putting her shirt back on would be a good idea, but remained on the couch for the moment. Shit! She wasn't making a very good impression with Tadhg's father at all...
Trying not to listen in on their conversation, but unable to help her curiosity, Brooke busied herself with picking up the dropped groceries from Mr. Kelly's shock. There was fruit everywhere, and a broken glass of pasta sauce among other things. The least she could do was help...

When Tad came into the kitchen, fully dressed and a look of sheer embarrassment on his face. Jon couldn't help but feel slightly bad for him. If it had been his old man walking in on one of his girlfriends . . .when he was younger of course. . . he'd have probably burst into flames or something. Of course that didn't mean making out. . .or anything more serious was all right in the living room.
"Tadhg Dermot Kelly," he said sharply. "On the couch? Really?"
He was trying to keep his voice down so that Brooke wouldn't have to hear this little exchange. He couldn't pretend that he hadn't done his fair share of making out, and foreplay, but not where Tad would have to sit and watch TV later. To be mad at his son for actually doing what he was doing was hypocritical of him, as the two had caught him in a similar situation the other day. As long as Tad wasn't having sex with Brooke he was fine. . .he didn't want his child producing a child at this age.
"Tad I want you to think carefully about how far you go," he said. "I don't want a bunch of little violent femme/queen lovers running around the place just yet."
He looked over at Brooke after rolling his eyes despairingly at his son, who looked slightly more mortified at his father's words, despite it being more good natured than anything else. He noticed her picking up his mess.
"Oh don't worry about that, that's my fault," he said. "Blimey. . .I was just . . .bringing in some groceries. .. I can get the rest, and then I'll just leave you kids alone shall I?"

Brooke winced a little as Tadhg sort of got yelled at. She could tell that his dad was more embarrassed by the situation than he was actually upset. It wasn't like they were really doing anything, though. They were just making out... a little hardcore, yes, but it was all innocent. Also, Dermot? Seriously?
"Oh don't worry about that, that's my fault," he said. "Blimey. . .I was just . . .bringing in some groceries. .. I can get the rest, and then I'll just leave you kids alone shall I?"
Brooke had picked up most of the apples, oranges, and pears (which is now what you like to eat) that had rolled away and placed them back into the one paper bag.
"Pretty sure it's partially my fault," she pointed out, still blushing furiously and unable to make complete eye contact with Tad's father. "Sorry."
Brooke looked back over at Tadhg apologetically before turning back to his dad. "Don't worry about it... actually, I have to go... home. And babysit." It was a complete and total lie, but she needed an excuse to not be there at that moment. She'd never been quite so embarrassed before, and knew that if she stayed things would only get weird. It would be best to let this whole thing pass over.
"So... umm... I'll see you later, Tad. And... erm... sorry again, Mr. Kelly... It was... nice seeing you again," she managed to spit out before quickly making her exit.

(("which is now what you like to eat" this made me giggle))
Tad wanted to die on the spot at his father as his father spoke to him in front of Brooke. He'd whipped out the middle name too: yes Dermot, bitch. =D
Brooke quickly made up some excuse to leave and, quite frankly, he didn't really blame her at this point, he only wished he had the same luxury. Unfortunately, he was going to be stuck in the house with his bumbling British father.
"Yeah, I'll see you at school tomorrow," he told her before she left, claiming she had to babysit.
He wondered if, with the way things were going lately, she'd want to keep this going. This probably wasn't enough to cause any sever damage, but every time she came to his house, something emotionally scarring transpired.
"Well, that went well," he said bitterly/sarcastically to his father.
