Cynthia was about to take a seat in Desmond's living room when a boy from school walked in followed closely by Audrey. She didn't know the boy, but thought she recognized him from school... he was a Junior, maybe? All she knew was that he wasn't in the GSA, but that she was glad to have more people show up. She vaguely remembered his name starting with an A.... Andrew? Adam? Something like that.
"Thanks for coming," she said, sitting down next to Adamo and flashing him a reassuring smile. "We're always glad when someone new takes intereste," she added.

Adamo looked up at all the faces. Two people spoke to him and he figured they must be the one's in charge. They seemed a good deal more sociable than the girl he'd just met.
"I'm Adamo," he said after a momentary debate as to whether or not he should give his name. After an encouraging smile from the blond boy opposite him, he continued on. "Thanks, I just came because I'd heard about this from a friend of mine."

"Well that's great!" said Desmond happy the news had encouraged people who weren't in GSA to come to the meeting. "Oh, and umm," Desmond bent over and whispered into Adamo's ear. "Don't worry about Audrey; she's just a bitch." Desmond straighted up ((heh, straightened up)) and gave Audrey a funny look behind her back. "Ok!" said Desmond loudly so people knew it was quiet time. "Are we all ready for the meeting?"

Adamo smiled at Desmond's words and felt slightly better. He and Tad and Dylan and Nathan ((because I don't feel like typing for all of them))
"Yes," they all muttered at slightly different moments.

"Ok then!" said Desmond as everyone got quiet. He stood where everyone would be able to see him and still be comfortable. "I'm sure most of you know what Prudence Roberts is up to now, but I'll fill everyone in again. Prudence is trying to have GSA banded from our school. She's holding a special Christian meeting for kids who feel the same way as her to rally support. Why? Because she is a bitch that's why. Also because she thinks she's the voice of God on earth and believes all homosexuals should rot in Hell, but that's beside the point. The point is that we have to figure out a way to stop her or at least put up a good defense. And, by the looks of our numbers. . " Desmond looked at the seven people around the room, "We're going to need some help or some really good ideas. Anyone have an idea?" Desmond asked hopefully.

It was raining now. Pouring. This was just what Brooke had been waiting for. Tadhg had mentioned having to go to an emergency meeting of the Gay-Straight Alliance at Desmond's house. She knew the address, but had cheerleading practice. Now that it was raining, however, practice was cancelled and she was free to go. She was still in her warm-up suit when she arrived at his door. She knocked twice before trying the door - it was open. She let herself in quickly to escape from the rain, taking off her shoes so as to not track the wetness into his house. From the doorway she could spot Desmond and the others in his living room.
"Sorry to just let myself in, but it's pouring out there," she explained. "I don't mean to interrupt... practice was cancelled, and Tadhg mentioned the meeting, so..." she said, trailing off. She wanted to make sure they really wanted her there. She wasn't too sure how much help she would be, but if this was something that was important to Tadhg then she wanted to make sure it was important to her as well. Especially since she knew now that his father was gay. She flashed Tadhg a smile, hoping she didn't look too horrible with her hair all wet and matted from the rain...

They were just starting the meeting when Brooke came in soaking wet. Vinnie hadn't even realized it started to rain. Being a good friend of Desmond's and know his house as well as his own he went to the upstairs linen closet and grabbed her a towel. "Here you go." said Vinnie once he was back down stairs and handing her the towel. "Glad you could make it." He also offered Brooke his spot on the love seat and sat down on the floor.

Tad looked up to see Brooke walk into the room. Vinnie got up to get her a towel, and then offered her his seat on the couch. Tad waved at her as she came in.
"You didn't miss much yet," Tad informed her. "Desmond just gaev us the lay down on some Prude girl.. . .and now we're open for suggestions on how to knock her down off her thrown."

"Glad you could come Brooke!" said Desmond as Vinnie ran off to get the girl a towel. Then he turned to Audrey. "Um, as much as murder appeals to us all I think we should go with a less violent route. Anyone else have a suggestion that doesn't involve homicide?"

"I guess we have to find something that'll show case our good qualities" Dylan said, with a shrug. "She's going to play off all our faults, but we have to counter with a strong defense like Desmond said and a counter strike. Maybe we could dig up some dirt on Prudence?"

Desmond listen to Dylan's idea. "I like the first part, but I don't want to start a mud slinging campaign." said Desmond, "We have to fight clean if we want to win this. Plus I know Prudence will be doing that and I don't want to use any cowardly tactic she is. Besides if we get caught trying to make her look bad she'll just use it to her advantage. It's too risky and dishonorable. But, I do agree that we need to showcase our good qualities. We did raise a lot of money for AIDS research last year. What else could we say?"

"But what are we all good at besides dancen' and dressen' nicely," Nathan asked.
He was only half joking. Mostly he was just playing up on the stereotypes. He thought for a second.
"Well the GSA helps raise awareness, I guess," he said/

"Well, we should raise awareness about ourselves." said Audrey, annoyed at the lack of good ideas. "Let people know that some asshole bible beaters are trying to get our club banned from school. We should have some type of rally or something. My dad is one of the chairmen of the gay and lesbian center I'm sure we can get their help. We can't be fruitse good-too shoes about this otherwise Prudence is just going to plow over us. If Prudence goes too far we could have a protest, I'm sure we can get support from from the community; there's enough gay and lesbian couples who care about this type of shit, my dads know enough of them. We can even get the GW GSA to help us out. I've seen their president before and he is quite the looker if I do say so myself, but probably gay." Audrey secretly hoped she could hook Desmond up with someone in the GW GSA so he could finally get rid of that dead weight, Josh. "Well?"

"Yeah, my dad's a member of PFLAG, so I can ask him to talk to them about it," Tad offered. "And we can ask Debbie to help spread the word at the diner. Maybe we can put up fliers, asking for support. Maybe set up a meeting for every gay or lesbian or supporter in the area. We can put them in the liberty Diner, and maybe Brooke, you could ask Michael to put them up in the comic store."
Audrey seemed to be annoyed by their lack of decent ideas. So he threw one out there that he thought was pretty decent,

Desmond was quite surprised that Audrey's idea didn't involve violence. He barely had time to get over this before Tad gave his input as well. "These are really great ideas guys!" said Desmond with excitement. He was really happy there meeting was going some where! "Since the bible beaters do seem to have greater numbers right now I think asking the community for support is a great idea. Maybe we can even hold some type of event at the gay and lesbian center to gather support." For a split second he thought to suggest doing something at Babylon as well, but that didn't seem appropriate for the situation. "Maybe like an art show or something?"

"Art show. . .wooo exciting." said Audrey sarcastically. "We should do something that represents gay culture and were seriously can't be afraid of being 'too gay' because you know the Jesus Nazis are going to be afraid to be too anti-gay. As long as it's not porn, of course, but if it was up to me. . . . anyway." Audrey thought for a moment. "We should have a Drag Queen Pageant!" said Audrey with excitement. "We get all the guys in the club to do it, I'm sure there's some guys out side the club willing to do it and who wouldn't pay to see guys from our school dress up like bitches and make complete asses of themselves. We can advertise it around the community and my Daddy can host it. . .or I could." Audrey's father was a big time drag Queen and was Miss Pittsburgh back in the eights and still makes regular appearances as his alter ego - Saffron.

"Oh good," Tad said. "Just what I want to do. .. look like a bitch and make an ass of myself.. . .if you're going to do this you can combine the two sell art or have art exhibits at the Drag show. . .as a sort of side bit. You could have a barbeque's or something at it too."
((for the record, they had a bbq at the drag show at my school))

Desmond was freaking out inside; finally he's be able to wear on of the dresses he'd designed and people wouldn't think he's crazy! Well, not as crazy as he would look if he was just walking down the street in a dress, unless that street was liberty Avenue of course. He actually did like Audrey's idea, and Tad's suggestion made it more appealing.
"I dunno Taddy, I think you'd look good in a dress." said Desmond with a grin. "This would also be a great opportunity to team up with the George Washington GSA. Kinda have a joint rally, you know? The more people involved the better. I'm really liking this! So, is everyone willing to wear a dress?" Desmond knew he was.

Brooke took the towel to dry herself off a little, but then sat it down on the sofa just in case she was still a little wet. She didn't want to go making his sofa all wet. She was about to argue with Vinnie about him giving up his seat, but decided that he'd probably be stubborn about it and she had already interrupted the meeting once. She sat down, and listened to the ideas.
"I'd love to say I could get any of my friends to help, but..." she just let it alone there. "But if you need any type of funding, let me know. My parents owe me big time., and I have a bunch of money saved up from the Comic Book shop," she added. "I'm sure Michael would be glad to put up fliers or help us out."
Then the idea came up about dressing in drag. The idea of Tadhg in a dress was, well, quite hilarious. "I'm afraid you'll like it too much," she joked to Tadhg, winking. "I like the idea. I mean, people would be curious, to say the least. And it's fun."

"Yeah, nice emasculate the boyfriend, what the heck? We're easy targets," he said with a grin to signify that he was just in fact joking.
He doubted he'd let them get him into a dress anyway. he was secure enough in his masculinity, and he'd go to the event, he just didn't think he had to be in a dress to appreciate. ..the . . . uhh importance.

"Tad! Come one!" Desmond pleaded. They needed complete cooperation from all the members of the group, including the straight guys. "I'm even make the dress for you if you agree to do it! Look, Vinnie's gonna do it!" Vinnie was the only other straight guy in GSA, at least he was pretty sure Vinnie was the only other straight guy. He didn't know much about Adamo yet.

"Well done Vinnie," Tad said. "Well see."
He consented to at least consider the possibility, but a dress? Really? He had enough issues as it was. . .but maybe he could be convinced.

Dylan laughed at Tad's reluctance to wearing a dress. He looked over at Desmond and Audrey.
"Well I for one think it's a good idea, and I don't have problems dressing in drag," he said. Hell , and he was even a football player, but he didn't mind some kids seeing him look like a girl, it might even be fun. "You should do it to Amo."
He used the name his sister often referred to him as. Who cared if nobody else got the name.

Vinnie's gonna do it!
Vinnie, who had been trying his best to stay under the radar after drag had been mentioned, gave Desmond a look that clearly said, 'what the fuck, dude?'. After a moment of intense staring between Vinnie and Desmond he finally just gave in. "Fine, I'll wear a stupid dress." he said in defeat, "but Tad has to wear one too."
