"It's alright, I guess. I mean, I was expecting it to be crazy hard and whatnot, but it's just about the same as last year. A little more work, but not much. I'm sure you've got it worse, being an upperclassman and having to worry about PSSAs and the SAT already. College, too... wow, I feel sorry for you." Rosie said casually, though she was starting to freak herself out with all the work she had ahead of her.

SATs? College? Ravi hadn't really given it much thought, but now that Rosie had brought it up he was starting to feel very nervous about it. What if he didn't get a good SAT score? What if he didn't get in to college? Ravi didn't even know what he wanted to go to college for! The more he thought about it the more light headed and nervous he felt. Why did Rosie have to bring all that up? He was just starting to feel good about meeting Kyan at Babylon now he had a whole other set of things to worry about!
"Yeah." he said a little shakily, "College. . . .heh. . . you sure are lucky to be in tenth grade. . . ."

Upon witnessing Ravi's composure becoming shaky, Rosie realized she might've brought up some topics he wasn't ready to deal with. Feeling genuinely bad, she tried to ease him.
"Hey, don't worry about it... I mean, you'll do great. You've got a lot of slackers in your grade and they'll do well. You're ten times better than them!" she said, awkwardly patting him on the arm in a way she hoped was encouraging. Sure, she didn't necessarily want him to like her, like her anymore, but she certainly didn't want him to dislike her. That'd be awful.

Ravi blushed when Rosie patted his arm. Oh my God, a girl just touched me. . . Liking guys and girls got a little confusing at times. Rosie really was very pretty, pretty enough to make Ravi keep telling himself that he liked Kyan. Ravi laughed nervously. "Thanks. . ." he said with a small smile, "W-well, at least I'm not a Senior, they must have a rough time with college being so close. . . and I heard the PSSAs aren't that bad. . . I think they even give us free breakfast when we take them s-so that's always good. . ."

"Exactly!" Rosie immediately agreed, waving the thoughts of college and SAT away dismissively. Now that the possiblility of a bad scenario had passed, she decided to move onto lighter topics.
"So, ah, what classes do you like? I'm trying to get opinions for next year." she said, deciding that favorite classes were fun. Although she was curious about what'd made Ravi so happy earlier...

Ravi had to think for a moment. There we're any classes he was particularly fond of, he liked some of them, but not to the point to make recommendations to a girl he didn't know all that well. Pretty much his favorite class would be the only one he had with Kyan; History. That was the best hour and a half of his day, but didn't have any real relevance to what Rosie had asked him. "Um, American Lit is fun, Mrs. Rook is really cool," said Ravi slowly, trying to think of something to say, "but don't ever take, Econ, it's very boring and Mr. Bell is kinda mean."

Rosie took mental notes and smiled.
"Ah, I see. Well, I'll be sure to look out for them then." she said, signaling a thumbs up and giggling.
It was obvious that the conversation was steadily going nowhere, and she had to finish a paper in the library, so she decided to take her leave then.
"Well, I gotta go. Hope to see you around then, Ravi." Rosie said with a small wave.

Ravi had been enjoying the conversation, but it didn't feel like it was going to last much longer so he wasn't all to reluctant when he waved good bye to Rosie.
"Um, I guess I'll see you around then?" he asked hopefully.
