Waiting for Kyan

[Ravi Malone]

Ravi realized that there was no way Kyan was going to be interested in him if he was quiet and paranoid like he usually was so the night before Ravi had done some serious thinking about how to be less of a loser. He decided step on was to start dressing differently so he went shopping, bought some tight pinstripe pants at hot topic, a rainbow studded belt, a tight black t-shirt that had the skull of Jack Skellington on it and a pair of black and green checked Vans. He had painted his nails black and had done his hair in a faux hawk. When he left that house that morning he had gotten a few funny looks from his moms and younger siblings, but thankfully none of them said anything.

Changing his look was easy, now he had to work on his shyness and paranoid tendencies. He had practiced flirting with some random guys on Liberty Ave, on his way home from the mall and by the fifth guy he flirted with he got a phone number! Of course there was no way in hell he would ever call the guy because he had to have been at least ten years older than Ravi, but it was the principle of the thing that counted. He even didn't to his homework last night and was going to tell his teacher he just didn't' feel like doing it.

Ravi had just gotten into school and dropped his books off at his first class. He knew which hall way Kyan's locker was in so he wend there and leaned against the wall and tried to look relaxed and cool about half way down the hall from Kyan's locker so it didn't seem like he was being creepy and waiting for him.

[Kyan Walker]

Kyan walked up to his locker, turned the dial 43. . ..21. . . .15. . .. and kicked it open. He reached in for his books for his next class and once he had them under held under his right arm, he shoved his locker closed again.

He began to walk down the hall when he noticed that kid Ravi again. Only this time he looked different. He was dressing differently and styling his hair differently. Kyan went up and pat the top of his faux hawk.

"Woah," he said chuckling lightly. "What's with the new get up?"

[Ravi Malone]

EEEEE! Kyan noticed!! And he touched me! Ravi felt a blush coming on but he held it back.

"Oh, you know." said Ravi trying to sound nonchalant and cool, "Just felt like changing my image a bit. Loosen up a bit. Yay or nay?"

[Kyan Walker]

"Well it's deffinitely different," Kyan said circling around him. "You know, it's not half bad, but is it you?"

[Ravi Malone]

Ravi looked down at his outfit thoughtfully. "Well, I picked it out, I bought it, and I really like it." he said with a shrug, "Yeah, it is me. It's nice to be wearing something that wasn't approved and bought by my moms. So, I guess you can say my taste in fashion is no longer restricted in a way. Besides, these pants make my butt look cute, I think." He added that lost comment on a whim.

[Kyan Walker]

Kyan folded his arms as Ravi spoke. He gestured with his hands to make turning motions.

"Well let's see it then," he said. "Turn around."

[Ravi Malone]

Ravi smiled and turned around and lifted his shirt up a little to show off his cute little butt. "Well?" he asked smugly.

[Kyan Walker]

Kyan stroked his chin thoughtfully.

"Well I can't argue with you. The pants do you justice," he said with a wink.

[Ravi Malone]

"Thanks." said Ravi smugly with a smile, "So, are you working at Babylon tonight? I thought I'd stop in for a drink later tonight." He wasn't going to add that fact that that would be after he got done babysitting his younger siblings.

[Kyan Walker]

"Ahh, tonight's one of my two nights off,"Kyan said. "I might stop by for some dancing, but you'll be getting your drinks from one of the other guys."

[Ravi Malone]

"Oh, well, that's cool that you get a night off." said Ravi trying not to sound to dissapointed, "Maybe we could met up at Babylon even though you're not working?"

[Kyan Walker]

"I don't see why not," Kyan said. "I'll see if I can squeeze you onto my dance card."

He winked as he said it. He liked the kid, and he was cute, but that was part of the problem: he was a kid. Kyan wasn't looking for a boy or girl friend as it was. . .and he was starting to get the feeling Ravi was looking for one. . .in him.

[Ravi Malone]

"Great." said Ravi with a smile trying not to sound too excited, "How about around ten?"

[Kyan Walker]

I should be there then, yeah," Kyan said. "Well, I've got to go avoid being on time for my first class. . .see you around."

[Ravi Malone]

"See ya." said Ravi calmly, giving Kyan a little nod. When he was sure he was out of eye sight from Kyan he immediately began to do a little dance and sing to himself.

"I'm gonna dance with Kyan! I'm gonna dance with Kyan!"

[rosie]

Rosie had just turned the corner on her way to the library and stopped upon seeing the unusual sight of Ravi Malone, dancing with himself.

Eyes wide, she searched for a quick getaway and found that the only route was the one she'd just traversed. So, she started taking a few quiet steps backwards to make her escape.

It wasn't that she thought he was bizarre or mental or anything of the like. It was just that she totally connected with that sort of moment, a moment when you're so happy you just have to let all inhibitions go and dance, even if someone could see.

Knowing exactly how that felt, she didn't want to interrupt a moment like that and continued her backward stroll.

[Ravi Malone]

Ravi was in mid thrusting motion in his little dance when he saw some one down the hall; it was a girl he had seen in the hallways but never really talked to. He immediately stopped his dance of enjoyable accomplishment and blushed.

"I swear to God I'm not crazy. . ." he said quickly.

[rosie]

Crap. He'd spotted her and he was embarassed and she felt bad; it was a mess.

"I do that too. Dancing, I mean. Randomly." she spurt, trying to clean up the situation with relating to it. It might just make things even more awkward, but with a nervous smile, she wished for the best.

[Ravi Malone]

"Heh." said Ravi awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "I-I, just had a minor personal accomplishment and was dancing in celebration. . . .so. . . um. . . . yeah. . ." Ravi really had no idea what else to say.

[rosie]

"That's absolutely reasonable." Rosie replied, offering a nod of her head. This was so strange - running into Ravi Malone and not spazzing inside.

At the beginning of freshman year, Rosie had taken to Ravi, despite the fact that he had no clue who she was. It was a minor crush, but one of her firsts, so it had been a big part of her life. Just seeing him in the halls occasionally and at lunches sometimes suited the feelings she had for him: distant, but very much there. He just seemed like a nice person and Rosie would've liked to get to know him better.

However, she'd gotten over it before the year's end, and now it seemed perfectly normal to see him without feeling any sensations in her chest.

Normal enough to be standing in an empty hallway talking to him, at least.

[Ravi Malone]

Ravi let out a nervous laugh; she was really cute! Of course he was still trying to get Kyan, but still. . . She looked like she had the same level of awkwardness that he had. But he liked Kyan! Being bisexual was so confusing at times.

"I-I'm Ravi Malone," he said twittering his fingers nervously, "I-I've seen you around school before. What's your name?"

[rosie]

Rosie was surprised. She certainly hadn't expected him to have noticed her around, not enough so to ask her her name.

"Oh, me? I'm Rosie. Christianson." she replied casually, adjusting the bag on her shoulder.

[Ravi Malone]

"Nice to meet you Rosie." said Ravi with a small smile. She has pretty hair. Shut up brain! "S-so what grade are you in?"

[rosie]

"Sophmore. You're a junior right?" Rosie asked, recalling the little she knew about him.

[Ravi Malone]

"Um, yeah, yeah I am." said Ravi a little surprise that she knew. "S-so, do you, ah, like being a sophomore?" Ravi had no idea where this was going, but it was nice to actually talk to someone.
