((ooc- reposting this from George Washington, because I'm retarded.))
Brooke pulled up in her car, wondering how on earth she was going to face going back to school. Blane may have been a bully, but he had quite the cult following. He was popular, and if he wanted to get back at Brooke then he could. He probably told everybody already that he had dumped her, which implied that she'd done something wrong. Bastard. She didn't feel up to school, but knew that avoiding him would only give him more power over her. She had to take her chances.
The yellow Jeep Wrangler she owned was playing loudly, and even though she turned off the car she was still singing the song she'd been listening to softly to herself. "Nothing is certain except everything you know can change..."

Body and beats I stain my sheets I dont even know why. My girlfriend shes at the end she is starting to cry. Let me go on like I blister in the sun. Let me go on big hands I know your the one. . ."
He grinned as he turned off the car and got out. He slung his carrier bag across his chest and mussed up his hair as he got out of the car. He was looking lpeasantly dissheveled as he got out of the car with the loosened tie again and the untuckeed shirt. He had his chucks on again and silver studs in his cartilidge.
He was about to just go inside the school, probably to the welcome of another beating, when he noticed a yellow jeep with a certain all-too-familiar blonde girl in it. He felt his stomache squirm and was confused. Brooke wasn'treally his type: blonde. . .cheerleader, but there was something about her and well, he couldn't help but grin as he saw her.
He walked up to her car, tapped on the window and waved at her.

Brooke looked over at the knock on her window. She was startled at first, but then smiled. It was Tadhg, someone she didn't mind seeing.
"Hey!" Brooke greeted, opening the door after grabbing her books. "Boy, am I glad to see a friendly face," she said, smiling. "Have you heard? Blane dumped me." Brooke wondered how many people could smile and laugh with relief at a statement like that, at knew that she was probably the only one. The fact that Blane had dumped her was significant, because if she had dumped him he would've kept going after her. The fact that he had ended it meant that she was free from him... in a relationship sense, at least. He still hated her, but that would never change.

Tad felt something in his stomach again, but ignored it as best he could. He tilted his head and furrowed his brows at Brooke's words.
"He dumped you?" he asked in slight disbelief. "Well, that's a surprise. So. . . Brooke, you've just been dumped by Blane What'shisface what are you gonna do now?"
He jokingly pretended to hold out a microphone for Brooke to speak into.

"Yes, can you believe that? The nerve of him, dumping me... but it doesn't matter. It was over, even if neither of us had actually said a thing about it. He just beat me to it." Brooke shrugged, pretending not to care. She did a little, because now Blane officially had the right to tell everyone that he dumped her, which made her the weak and vulnerable one, but she knew that wasn't the case. She knew it, and even though nobody else did that was all that mattered.
She laughed as Tadhg held the fake microphone out to her; she was glad that she had met Tadhg. If she hadn't, then everything with Blane never would have happened. "I'm going to Disney World!" she said, mocking the typical response of football players after they've won the superbowl. She hoped that Tadhg got the joke. "Just kidding, of course. But seriously... I dunno. I was thinking about cutting my hair. Maybe coloring it brown, or darker?" Brooke liked the thought of her having hair that wasn't blonde. Everyone dyed their hair nowadays, blonde was overrated.
"What do you think? Blane used to tell me what he liked most about me was my hair, how it was long, and curly, and blonde. So? What do you think?" Brooke asked again. She held her hair in her hands and folded it up, pretending it was shorter. She turned from side to side, pretending to model the new look, still smiling and laughing a little as she did it.

Tad rolled his eyes and laughed a bit at her Disney Worrld comment. All the schmucks on tv always said that whenever someone asked that question.
"Don't do it if you're just cutting it to piss off Blane," Tad said. "But, personally, I think it'd look good brown- not that it doesn't look good now-- 'cause it does. . . I mean just do whatever makes you happy."

Brooke hesitated a moment. Was she really thinking of cutting her hair just to piss off Blane? That would be showing him that she cared what he thought. "No," she said. "Not to piss him off. To show him that I'm not dependent on my looks, like he thought I was. I was always just sort of eye candy to him, a trophy girlfriend. He ignored the fact that I was in all the honors classes, that I had a personality... I dunno. I guess I just figured, since I'm rid of him, it was time for a sort of fresh start, you know? A new beginning."
Brooke wondered if her reasoning was stupid. It wasn't to her, but to someone like Tadhg, she wondered if it made as much sense. She laughed a little as he stumbled over his words, trying not to offend her as he told her that he thought she'd look good as a brunette. "Well, thanks. I don't know, I'll probably lose my nerve after school, but who knows? Just seems like it's time for a change." Brooke looked around towards the school, not wanting to go today at all.

"Dont' say that," Tad said. "If you want to do it, just go out and do it. Go right after school today, or blow off classes and do it while it's still fresh in your mind."

Brooke had been looking down at the ground, which was what she usually did when she was deep in thought. She was startled by how much Tadhg seemed to care about her doing this. "I don't know... skip classes?" she knew that she didn't want to go to school today anyway, but wasn't sure if blowing off classes so soon was a good idea. Then a thought struck her: Tadhg couldn't be too pumped to go back to school either, could he?
"Come with me!" she said, her face lighting up with excitement. "I mean, you don't have to, but... do you want to? It won't take long, I know this place, we can be back by lunch..."

Tad looked at her confusedly. She wanted him to cut classes with her?
"I guess. . .I mean sure why not? I could use some recooperating time before going back to classes."

Brooke was glad that he'd agreed. After all, nobody would blame him for not going back to school right away, and she hadn't been absent a single day since 10th grade! She figured she deserved a day off. "Great! Just hold on a minute." Brooke took a moment to get out her school planner, and look up the number of the school. She got out her cell phone and dialed the number.
"Yes, hello there. This is Mrs. Lynch, Brooke's mother. Yes, L-Y-N-C-H. I'm afraid she's come down with a bout of the flu or something, horrible fever. No, she won't be coming in today. Yes... thank you."
Brooke smiled. "So, whose car are we taking?" Brooke knew that some people hated having others drive them, but she was the one who knew where the salon was. Still, since Tadhg was being nice enough to skip school with her, she left it up to him.

Brooke shook her head. "I know, I'm such a rebel," she joked, unlocking the doors to her jeep again. "Sounds good to me. Hop in!" she turned on the car and turned down the radio a little. "Find a CD you like and put it in," she said, motioning to a case full of CDs under the passenger seat.
((ooc- pretend you found something really cool that you liked, it'll help them bond. ^_^))

Tad rifled through her case until he located a cd to his liking.
"Ah-hah. . .a Floggin Molly cd? This is deffinitely going in," he said.

Brooke wondered how Tadhg found her taste in music. Some of it was pop culture stuff, top 10 and such, but there was enough old rock as welll as new rock in there as well. She had a nice vaiety of everything, really.
"Nice choice," she said, turning up the volume again so that the music could be heard. She was glad that Tadhg liked some of her music, at least. "Well, we're off then." And she pulled out of the space before she could change her mind.
