Brooke was excited to go to the mall. She realized that they wouldn't see anybody they knew because everybody else was at school, but she was still having fun skipping.
"So, where do you like to eat," she asked. She could go for anything in the food court, from pizza to the chinese place. She wasn't sure what Tad's tastes were, though.

"Hmm I don't care. . .what about that Chinese place? I haven't had good chinese food in a while," he said.

"Really?" Brooke said. "Then you have to try it here. They have the best eggrolls. I always get the same thing, the bourbon chicken with rice. Delicious." Brooke really did love to eat, and because she kept active she worked off most of the excess weight. It all balanced out.
She walked over with Tadhg and smiled at the worker. "One bourbon chicken with rice, extra sauce please," she added, and then took her tray and moved over so that Tadhg could order.

Lena had been doing some shopping with her new boyfriend, Blane, who was Captain of the football team and an overall hottie. Blane was buying her some awesome new shoe among other things., she pretty much made him do any thing she wanted and the best part was he listened. They were passing the food court when Lena decided she was hungry for a nice yummy Cesar Salad and a diet coke.
"Oh, Blaney-poo," she said lovingly to her boyfriend, "Be a dear and buy me a nice Cesar Salad with no onions or peppers, God help me if I see even the smalled trace of an onion or a pepper Blane, I don't want to even think that my salad was near an onion or pepper, got it? Thanks Lovey! Oh, and I want a diet Coke too!" she gave him a kiss on the check as she sat at a table with all her bags from shopping and waited for Blane to return with her food.

Blane had his hands full of bags fill of various purchases he had bought for his latest girlfriend, Lena. When Blane asked her out he didn't realize who Lena's brother was; Vinnie Barrino. For fear of Vinnie beating him up, and Blane admit only to himself that Vinnie scared him because Blane knew Vinnie was perfectly capable of beating the shit out of him, Blane pretty much did what ever he could to keep Lena happy.
On the plus side, Lena was a million times hotter that his ex, Becky or Bridget or what ever the fuck her name was so Blane was too unhappy about doing what ever she asked. It was never anything to outrageous so who fucking cared? Especially if he got a BJ or two out of this relationship.
"Sure thing, Babe." Blane said with out complaint to Lena's request as he put her bags down and went to get her salad and diet coke. He returned a few minutes later with two salads and two diet cokes, Blane getting the same thing for himself to earn some Brownie points.
"There you go." he said, placing the salad in front of Lena and starting to eat his own. he fucking hated "rabbit food" but just thinking of the possibility of a BJ got him through it.

"I guess, one General Tzo's chicken," Tad said looking breifly at the menu.
He, too, took a tray and moved down the line so they could get there food. Once he had gotten his, he turned to Brooke.
"Any preference where we sit?"

"Oh shit," she said, spotting Blane out of the corner of her eye. He was skipping too? And with his new whore of a girlfriend too. Jesus.
"As far away from those two as humanly possible," she said, subtly nodding towards Blane and heading off in the opposite direction of the food court. Finding a nice booth away from her ex, she smiled at Tadhg.
"Perfect."

Tad looked around quickly and saw whom Brooke referring to. He followed her lead to the booth far away from them. Once he had put his tray down and taken a seat across form her, he spared a glance back over at them. He took off the jacket the guys had to wear to school and loosened his tie a bit: it was hot in there.
"Jesus shit, he moves fast," he said, referring to the new girlfriend. . .what had it been, like a day?
Unlike me. . .he thought. Shit Tad, grow a pair.
"So hey, I was wondering," he said in a would-be casual voice. "If you're not doing anything this weekend, if you want to go out to dinner or catch a movie or something. Wow, sorry I know you just had a break up and it was probably dumb of me to ask."

Brooke just shrugged it off. She didn't care what he did now that they were broken up, and she wished this new girl the best of luck.
"Yeah, he always did," she commented. Blane had never really taken the time to appreciate anything. It was one of the things that had bothered her about him, despite his obvious flaws. She turned back to her tray and took a small bite out of her eggroll as Tadhg started talking again. She was only half listening when she caught something in the tone of his voice. Was he asking...?
She realized that just after commenting on how fast Blane moved Tad was asking her on a date, and had to force herself not to laugh at the irony. There must've been something with the look on her face that made Tad take back his statement, though, because Tad immediately tried to back out of the engagement.
"No, no... it's okay. A movie or something sounds great," she said, smiling. "I'd really like that."

"You would?" Tad said almost incredulously. He grinned with relief. "Sweet."
"There's an nice italina restaurant, I've heard about, or if you want to see a movie, I can check out what's playing," he suggested, eating a piece of his sauce drenched chicken.

Brooke had taken a bite of her own chicken, and had to wait a minute before replying as she chewed her food. She hated speaking with her mouth full, it was so very unattractive.
"Sweet indded," she replied, laughing a little. "Both sound like good ideas, I'll leave it up to you." she'd made enough decisions recently, and was just as eager to sit back and let others make some for the time being. She smiled as she took a sip of her soda. "I don't know what's playing now either..."
Brooke was excited. Having been attached to Blane for the past year and a half, she hadn't really been excited for a date in a while. Things with Blane had just gotten routine after a while, but now everything was different. She wondered if Tadhg really liked her, though, or if he was just doing this as a friend things. She decided to just wait and see where things went from here.

((Seeing as how there's no movie theatre. . .and movies are lame to post for I guess it's dinner))
"Well I guess dinner would be all right," Tad said uncertainly. He didn't want to botch things if she really had her heart set on a movie. "So. . .what Saturday around 6? Does that work?"

Brooke really didn't mind either way, so she wasn't at all dissapointed when Tad decided that he'd rather go for dinner at the Italian place. "That sounds fine. I only work until five, so I can be ready by then." Brooke took great precautions to make sure she looked good, but she rarely spent more than 45 minutes getting ready for anything.
"Saturday at six it is." Brooke took another sip of her soda to try and hide how excited she was over this, but she had a feeling that it showed anyway. Thinking about the weekend made her remember that they were having their big football game against Oakland High this weekend. "Hey, think you'd want to come to the football game this weekend? It's going to be a good one, even you don't like football all that much." She was a cheerleader, and so she'd have to be there. "I only get to walk around during halftime, though. You know, the whole school spirit thing," she said, looking up to see what Tadhg's reaction would be.
She wouldn't mind if he didn't want to, since football really wasn't everyone's 'thing'. But, being new and all, she realized he'd probably never gone to one of their games. They could be really fun, if you allowed yourself to get into it.

"Only if jou promise to have cheer sex with me," Tad said. jk-----------------------------
"I guess I could go," Tad said, with a joking grin. "Since you asked so nicely. I have to warn though, I won't show up in school colours or anything."

((ooc- awwww... she was so looking forward to cheer sex. ^_^))
Brooke smiled. "You can wear whatever colors you like," she said, glad that he was coming. She would have been worried about Blane but, being Captain of the football team and all, he would be playing the whole time. Captain of the football team and the Head cheerleader, broken up. It would be a school-wide drama, that was for sure. She was glad they'd taken the day off so that she could prolong the inevitable. Tomorrow would be full of questions that she didn't even care about anymore. She couldn't wait.
((ooc- I'm out of ideas. Ugg.))

"Good," he said, eating another piece of chicken. "So school should be interesting for you tomorrow, huh? I'd include myself in that but I hardly have any friends and those I do have already know what happened yesterday. Except that Elliott kid."

Brooke nodded. "Oh yes, I can hear it now. And all day I'll spend trying to convince people that Blane's an ass, and everyone will know I'm right but be too scared to admit it because, let's face it, come friday he'll be the school hero again." Her tone was as though this was an everyday thing. "I don't mind. I'm over it, I guess. It would've bothered me before, but not anymore. And then after tomorrow nobody will really care anymore, and it'll be old news. Ah, the joys of high school."
Brooke found herself liking Tadhg more and more as the day went on. "And you should consider yourself lucky. Being new and all, it's like you get a 'get out of jail free card' for all this drama." She wondered if by going to dinner with him she'd be dragging him into any more drama. Blane claimed not to care, but what if he did? What if she was only making him hate Tadhg even more? That would be bad... then again, Blane was too preoccupied with his new girlfriend. Maybe he really didn't care.

"Yes, I own at the Monopoly of life," Tad said with a grin. "Gotta love teenage angst. Oh shit."
What she said was adding up in his mind. .. a bit delayed, but oh well.
"He's on the football team isn't he? Probably the star player. . ."

"The Monopoly of Life... that's poetic," Brooke smiled. She watched as Tadhg put two and two together about Blane. "Yeah... he's only the Captain and all," she confirmed. "Not that you were expected to know. It's one of the reasons he isn't suspended by now... he can talk his way out of anything because if we don't have him, we lose. Simple as that..."

"Well, of coure he's the captain," Tad said. "I mean why wouldn't he be? When has life ever been fair?"
He wondered how he's compare to the Captain of the football team. Well he didnt' have the chiseled abs or the popularity goign for him, but at least he wasn't an abusive asshole.

Although the comment wasn't so much funny as it was sad, Brooke laughed anyway. "Life is never fair... then again, haven't we always been warned about that? I guess it's just time to accept it. After all... it is fun to see Blane take a hit every now and then. I almost find myself hoping we lose. Is that bad? That's bad," Brooke said, confirming her own thoughts. She should think before she spoke sometimes. How far would that get her, if someone overheard the head cheerleader hoping her own team would lose. Horrible!

"Thanks," she said, glad that Tadhg agreed with her. "Better idea: I hope his screws up, but we still win the game." That made her feel a little bit better, since she wasn't wishing ill will against her school.

"That would be a nice little twist of fate," Tad said with a grin. Nothing would make him happier than for Blane to screw up that football game.
