Brooke had to keep in shape somehow, and though there was a gym around town it was pretty much always full of gay guys. Not that she minded, but she always felt just a little out of place and so she tended to use the school weight room instead. On weekends, however, she went for a morning jog. Leaving about 15 minutes before sunrise, she would always reach the same bench in the park just as the sun began to creep above the horizon. It was quite beautiful.
It was at this time that she stopped running and sat down on the bench to the right of the path. Pausing her iPOD, she took out the earphones and tried to calm her breathing. Brooke carried water in a special belt she wore when she ran, and took some out to drink as she took a small rest.

Blane knew about Brooke's jogging habits; they had been dating for about a year after all. Know were she'd be, Blane decided he had to go talk to Brooke somewhere where they wouldn't be interrupted. Blane, still sore from the little altercation the other day, walked the path in the park a little bit before spotting Brooke taking a rest on a park bench.
"Hey." he said calming, taking a seat next to her, "Just relax, I'm not going to hurt you. We need to talk."

Brooke's whole body tensed up as Blane sat down, and she immediately looked down at her bruised wrist. She knew that there were still some marks on her neck, but she was careful to cover them up with makeup every morning before she left the house so that there had been no inquiries about them.
Just the same, she didn't move. Making a run for it would be stupid, since she was a little worn from the first part of her jog and she figured that Blane could easily catch and overpower her. Maybe he wasn't going to hurt her, though she doubted it.
"We don't need to do anything," she said icily. careful not to make eye contact with him. "I don't think I ever want to speak to you again."

"Pssssh." said Blane smugly, leaning back and resting his elbow on the back of the bench, "Hey, I just came here to tell you I'm dumping your sorry ass. I don't need a bitch who sets her little newbie attack dog on me."

Brooke wasn't sure what she'd been expecting, but it certainly hadn't been that. "You... you what?" He couldn't have just dumped her. After everything they'd been through, he had the nerve to be the one to dump HER?! "And excuse me, but I didn't SET Tadhg on you, he chose to because you beat the shit out of him. It was personal revenge, nothing to do with me." Brooke knew that at least part of that was a lie, but she didn't mind.
"But fine, whatever. I dare say that things wouldn't have worked out so well after you tried to choke me," she added, shrugging the situation off. A whole year and a half of her life, down the drain. Just like that.

"Pssh, what ever." said Blane stretching his arms behind his back then putting his hands on the back of his head. "Listen, there's no use arguing; I'm dumping you. It's over. Done. Don't try any pathetic attempts to win me back because they won't work. Quite frankly, I can't believe I wasted over a year of my life with you with your constant nagging a telling me what to do. 'Oh, Blane don't beat him up!'" he said with a mock girly voice, "What the hell was I thinking? I could do so much better than you. Not to mention so much thinner."

"Who's arguing?" Brooke laughed. "Is that what you thought I was trying to do?" she asked. "Because I wasn't. I was going to break up with you yesterday, but I figured that might be too much after you got the shit beat out of you by the new kid and a cheerleader, so I was just waiting until you did it."
Brooke shrugged. How could he possibly think that she would want him back after everything that had happened. "Yeah, I suppose if you date an anorexic girl then she can't fight back. Good for you to realize that. You'll save some money on dinners as well." Brooke didn't care, she just wasn't ready to get up and keep running and didn't want to let Blane talk too much.

"PSSSSSSSSHHHHHH, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight." said Blane smugly, "What ever helps you sleep at night, babe." He gave her a tap on the side of her ass, "Listen, I love to say here and argue with you, but I've got some severe beatings for some asswipes I need to go plan out with the boys." He got up and started to leave.

Brooke somehow knew that he meant Tadhg, and got that sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Not again! She sighed, wondering if any of those beating would be in her future now as well. Blane was not the type of person you wanted as an enemy.
"Fine, I have to keep going anyway. Gotta keep my heart rate up," Brooke added, feeling her pulse once before turning on her iPOD again and starting off down the trail. She knew this wasn't over, but she still felt... free.
