Tad was walking to the Comic book store with a girl he'd met in one of his new-ish classes. Evie, as was her name was wearing a thick striped black and white shirt with tie and jeans. She listened to AC/DC and Queen and wore beat up chucks. i.e. (except her shirt is buttoned.) She'd had to go to Trex Records, so they'd driven down to Liberty Ave and chatted on the walk. It was nice for him to make a friend that was into the same sort of style and music that he was. They reached the comic book store first, and the jokingly grasped wrists and slid their hands away in a ghetto-secret hand style shake. He laughed and waved as she walked away. She winked and made her way over to Trex Records. Once inside he peered around, looking for Brooke but attempting to appear as though he wasn't. He wasn't succeeding much. . .so he grabbed a Spiderman comic book and began rifling through it.

Brooke had heard about the upcoming Homecoming Formal and was debating asking Tadhg if he wanted to go. Typically the guy was supposed to ask the girl in these situations, but she wasn't sure if Tadhg was really into dances and stuff like that. Maybe she should just wait to see if he asked her... she did love the dances, though.
Sometimes Tadhg would swing by the comic book store after school to visit, or look around at the new comics. She was looking out the window for him and spotted him coming by. Her face lit up at the sight of him, but then she noticed that he was walking with someone else. With... with another girl?
Despite the fact that she was trying not to, her immediate reaction was a feeling of jealousy. Then she felt horrible; obviously they were just friends. Very... friendly, though. Stop it, she told herself, feeling the blush rise in her cheeks at the fact that she thought Tadhg would be cheating on her.
Before he could come in she rushed into the back room, ignoring the bell over the door as Tadhg entered the shop. She waited until she was back to normal, silently reprimanding herself for assuming the worst. It was just, well, she'd been cheated on and wronged in the past, so it was hard for her to remember that not all guys were like that. Satisfied that she was back to normal, she left the back room carrying a stack of X-Men.
"Oh, hey, Tadhg!" she said, spotting him in the corner. She placed the stack down on the counter before making her way over to him, giving him a quick hello kiss. "What's up?"

"Hey there," Tad said, putting down his comic book and grinning at her. "I didn't see you at first. I thought maybe you weren't working here today."
She gave him a quick hello kiss and he raised an eyebrow at her in a jokingly seductive way.
"What's up?
"Well I came by to see what you were up to this weekend," he asked.

Brooke couldn't help but let her mind wander back to that girl. She seemed more like the type of person she could picture Tadhg hanging out with, and that scared her. Brooke had considered herself lucky to have met Tadhg that day, and for him to actually like her enough to ask her out. She knew that she wasn't his 'type', per say, but she really did like him. She was afraid he'd find someone better. After all, he'd only been there a few weeks. It was possible.
"I didn't see you at first. I thought maybe you weren't working here today."
"Oh, yeah. Michael had me restocking some of the shelves, so I had to go into the back for a minute," she said by way of an explanation.
"Well I came by to see what you were up to this weekend,"
"This weekend?" she asked, thinking. They had a cheerleading competition coming up, but weekend practice wasn't starting yet. "Nothing, at least, nothing I can think of," she said finally.

((Okay so I was assuming Homecoming was this weekend. . .dunno if we're on the same page. . . If not just pretend he said whatever weekend homecoming is))
"Well good because I was hoping you might find time to go to Homecoming with me," he said, with a slight grin.
Brooke seemed to be getting pensive while he was standing there with her. More so before he asked her than after. . .which might have made him a little more worried.
"Hey, everything all right?" he added.

((ooc- oooh. I didn't know if it was that soon or not. I couldn't remember.))
"Well good because I was hoping you might find time to go to Homecoming with me,"
"Why, I thought you'd never ask," she said, smiling right back. "I think I might be able to pencil you in." There was a pause during which time she frowned in thought. "Now I have to find a dress," she said, before smiling again. She had a few old ones she could wear, but it would be more fun to buy a new one. She needed something perfect.
Brooke was uncannily relieved by the fact that Tadhg had asked her and she didn't have to ask him. She didn't know what she'd been thinking. Of course Tadhg wouldn't be cheating on her. She shouldn't be jealous just because he had made a new friend who happened to be a girl. She should have been glad that he was fitting in so well! She was a horrible girlfriend.
"Hey, everything all right?"
"Yeah," she said. "Sorry. It's been a busy day, I guess my mind's just wandering a little," she lied, but she lied well, and felt even worse for it.

"All right," Tad said. "Don't cancel anything on account of me."
He grinned before listening to her talk of dresses. That reminded him. . .He glanced down at his chucks and change of jeans he'd brought to school.
"Yeah," she said. "Sorry. It's been a busy day, I guess my mind's just wandering a little."
"Oh . . .okay," he said with a shrug. "So I'm guessing this means I'll have to get some sort of suit. . ." he said.

"Don't cancel anything on account of me."
Brooke laughed a little. She was suddenly very exited for the Homecoming Dance. She'd been on the committee that had been working on decorations and everything, and she hoped that it would all come together just as she'd planned. It was bound to be an amazing night; homecoming always was.
"So I'm guessing this means I'll have to get some sort of suit. . ."
"I suppose," she said, looking him up and down as though she was sizing him up. "You're not one of those guys who needs his girlfriend to dress him, are you?" she asked. She wanted to make a joke about how his dad could pick him out a stylish outfit, but figured it might've been too early for the gay dad jokes. She wasn't sure how he felt about that. "Because I can if it comes down to it." She honestly wouldn't have cared if he had shown up in jeans and a t-shirt, just so long as he was there, but it was fun to pick on him a little.

"That could be fun," Tad said raising his eyebrows with a mischievous grin. He laughed and ducked away in case she got the innuendo and tried to swing at him.
"Nah, I think I'll manage," he said truthfully. "The perks of being metro are great and many."

Brooke had to laugh a little at the innuendo, though she did try to hit him for having his mind in the gutter. Of course, her mind had to be in the gutter as well for her to be thinking along the same lines, but she ignored that point as she pretended to be horribly offended.
"That's the last time I try and offer you help," she said in a huffy tone. "As for the perks of being metro... well, they all work out for me!"

"Aww. ..way to be a downer," Tad said pouting slightly. "Well good. . .I guess that means I have to go . .do some. . . shopping."
He shuddered overly dramatically, to mock the idea of a guy having to go clothing shopping.

"Oh, suck it up!" she said. "At least you only have one style to look for. A suit is pretty much a suit, the only thing you can change is the tie and the color of the suit! I, on the other hand, must suffer through all of those dresses," she pointed out, as though her life was so much harder than his.
"Well, good, then. It should be nice... with all the planning it took, people better show up!" she added. She loved being on planning committees, even though it had taken up a lot of her time.
((ooc- ugg, sorry that sucked. I've got to go to Voices now, though!))

"Hey. . .I"ll have you know there are several different styles of suits to choose from. . .and the righ tone will say the right things about you. . ." he said chuckling slightly at the end. "Okay so maybe dresses are harder. . ."
She spoke about setting up for the dance and his smirked.
"Well look at you Susie High School," he said, jokingly. "Don't worry, I'm sure everyone will go and have a great time. . .or be really wasted and forget they went to the dance. . .either way. . .it'll be fun to watch."

"Yeah, they are, and don't you forget it," she said, thus ending the discussion on clothing. She hated thinking about how long she would spend looking for the perfect dress now. Though she wouldn't admit this to anyone, let along Tadhg, she had already tried on several in the past few weeks in anticipation of the homecoming dance. She still hadn't found one she liked.
"Hey, just because I like to help," she said, pretending to get defensive about her dance coordinating position. "I'm sure everyone will too... but mainly the drunken part," she added. Even though there wasn't supposed to be any alcohol on school grounds she knew that it was inevitable. "Just as long as they don't cause any trouble... which they will," she decided. "Ah well, make sure to bring a camera! Good blackmailing opportunities."

At Brooke's mentioning of their being drunken trouble, he realized the truth behind her words. What if that asshole Blane started acting up again? He began to wonder how difficult it would be to conceal a tazer in his jacket pocket.
"Ahh right to the black mailing opportunites. . .I knew I was dating you for a reason," he said with a grin.

Brooke watched Tadhg's facial expressions and shared his concerns. She could only imagine he was thinking of people like Blane, who would show up with every intention of starting trouble somehow. She was worried about that as well, but it would be something she'd deal with if the time came.
"Ahh right to the black mailing opportunites. . .I knew I was dating you for a reason,"
"Let's hope that isn't the only reason," Brooke countered, smiling as she gave Tad a flirtatious kiss. She thought back to the girl he'd been walking with but decided she didn't really want to think about that. She had no right to be paranoid! It was stupid of her. Tadhg was a great guy, and she didn't want to ruin that by being paranoid.
"So, what're you up to for the day?" she asked curiously.

"Not much really. . .although now I guess I should head over to the mall or Walmart or something to pick up a suit," he said.
He might stop in hot topic to see if they had any pinstriped suits.

Wal Mart. Yes, She had faith in Tadhg to pick out a nice outfit. She honestly didn't care what he was wearing, so long as the two of them were there. Together. She laughed a little.
"I suppose you should," she agreed. "I might swing by the mall myself if I get off early enough... which I probably won't," she added, looking around the shop. She needed to dust off everything first, and she hadn't seen Michael around. He had let her there alone more and more often recently, and she was glad that he was out having fun with his friends. Especially Brian. She liked Brian.
"I hope you find something! Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?"

"Procrastination rules," Tad said agreeing. "Well I guess I should be heading out so I have plenty of time to pick out something you'll probably regret."
He grinned mischievously to show her that he wasn't. . .completely serious. He had a decent sense of style. . .he thought. And he could always run his outfit by his dad if need be. Gay guys were supposed to have great fashion sense. . .and his dad was English to boot.
