He dropped out after she died in a drive by shooting when he was 20 adn has tried to amke it on his own ever since.

Please Give some backround info about your character: Gabriel wasn’t very well off financially, but his family was far from poor. They were just your average group of people, really. Gabriel had plenty of friends, averaged a B+ GPA in Junior High, and even had a “girlfriend” by 8th grade. Everything changed when he hit High School, though. In ninth grade he began to get sick. A lot. It wasn’t a big deal until 10th grade, when he found out that he had cancer.

At first, everything seemed OK. He began treatment, and his family was very supportive. As things progressed, Gabriel realized that things were not going quite as he had planned. He wasn’t getting any better. In fact, the doctors were afraid that he would never fully recover, and might actually die by the time he was 20. Well, wasn’t that grand?

Gabriel then stopped playing it safe. He decided to take his life into his own hands. He didn’t tell any of his friends how serious his condition was. He stopped worrying and/or caring about anything. Life was too short to spend on trivial things. He was more open. He started experimenting more, and even hooked up with a few guys he knew. He found males easier to have sex with, because it was often a one-time thing. Gabriel doesn’t want to get too attached to anyone, in case he really isn’t going to get better.

Please Give some backround info about your character: Raena's father is an alcoholic. She has dealt with his issue all through her childhood, and has almost gotten used to it. Her father was a violent drunk, and would often hurt her and abuse her physically. She's taken to wearing long sleeves, turtlenecks, and lots of make-up to hide bruises and cuts, and has always had those insecure thoughts like 'if only I could be better, then he wouldn't hurt me so much', even though in the back of her mind she knows there's nothing more she could do.

She met Sawyer in high school, and thought that he was the perfect boyfriend. That was, until he started drinking in his senior year. Things weren't going so well at home, and after his father left him Sawyer's life went downhill. He started getting abusive as well, but for some reason Rae always felt like if she left him now he was a hopeless case. She stayed with them, and the two of them are still together, both going to the University of Pittsburgh.

Always there for his friends - he is the definitive shoulder to cry on, and was always happy to be so. He's had more than his fair share of unrequited love - he's not one to go for it, especially if it would hurt someone else. He's introspective and supportive, an excellent listener. He's pretty much amazing.

Sawyer wasn't always the way he is now. He used to be nice, polite, and caring. He used to care about a lot of things. Then his parents started fighting. His parents started to file for divorce at the start of his senior year, and then his father left them. After that, things went downhill. He stopped caring about a lot of the things that used to matter to him. And he started drinking.

Sawyer wasn't an alcoholic, but he was an angry drunk. He drank to escape, for the most part, and found that he did a lot of stupid things. He has an amazing girlfriend, Raena, who stayed with him even though he started doing those stupid things. She bailed him out of a lot of trouble. Recently, he's been forceful. He has this idea in his mind that if he doesn't use whatever force necessary to get what he wants, then he's going to lose everything, like his mother. He doesn't want that... but it's sort of making him unpleasant.
