“Well, maybe we can work on that a little.”
He smiled at that, but couldn't help but see Zeke's last look toward Caleb, and as much as he wanted to go on pretending he didn't sense the tension, he didn't want to cause any friction between the two by preventing them some time to talk.
However, just as Marcoh turned to talk to Zeke, the principal stepped up to the microphone.
"Excuse me... It's time to announce the homecoming king and queen! The envelope, please. And this year's Homecoming Queen is... Viola Hastings!"
Marcoh watched the traditional ceremony, smiling at the semi-grandeur of it all. He wondered what it would be like to win Homecoming Queen... then realized that he was a dude, and that would never happen. However, he also realized in that moment that Zeke had been a nominee, and temporarily forgot his previous train of thought.
"Ohmygod, Zeke!" Marcoh hissed excitedly, tapping Zeke's arm as he waited to hear the Homecoming King. For a gay guy to win Homecoming... wow. That would be amazing. And it would be his boyfriend.

Addison smiled, glad that a very nice girl won this year. Sometimes these girls ended up being some of the worst human beings in the world, which was usually how personality contests ended up. With Viola up on the stage Addison waited until the tiara was on her head before taking the boy envelope.
"And the winner for Homecoming King is," she said, opening up the envelope and looking at the name. She couldn't hide her own surprise and who it was. "Ezekiel Nayakan!" Zeke... wow. One of the gay students had managed to win Homecoming King... that was a first. She glanced around to see how the students reacted. She knew some would be opposed, and didn't want any trouble to start.

Viola stood beside the principal and clapped enthusiastically for Zeke. This was exciting. At least if it couldn't be a hot straight guy, it was a hot gay guy. The head of the GSA at that. in fact, this was better overall than any other guy winning HC King. She even smiled over at the boy who seemed to be Zeke's new boyfriend. This was a good year for decent people to win titles. (Not that she was being vain or pompous, she just realized that for a soccer playing, pro choice, GSA member to win over some ditsy blond cheerleader, was a big deal)

"And the winner for Homecoming King is... Ezekiel Nayakan!"
Marcoh gasped and began clapping as hard as he could, only pausing to throw his arms happily around Zeke, not caring if half the cafeteria looked to see their new Homecoming King. He was so happy for Zeke and only mildly jealous of Viola; she'd get to dance with him first, but he'd get him for the rest of night.
"Oh my god, Zeke, that's amazing!" he cheered over the applause, beaming brightly as he watched his reaction to the news.
[that was... horrible.]

Brad was completely disgusted by the fact that a Fag was Home Coming King. Luckily 25 minutes had passed since his little chat with Kyan and he was ready to leave. He found Walker and tapped him on the shoulder. "Parking Lot, five minutes." he said before pushing against Kyan's shoulder as he walked by. He went back over to his brother. "Come on, let's go." he said as he made his way to the exit.

"If meeting the Evans brothers outside in half an hour to try to knock some sense into them is stupid, then yes I'm going to do something stupid,"
Tobias shook his head, but knew that arguing would be pointless. There was nothing he could do to convince Kyan of not going into that parking lot. It was time to announce the Homecoming King/Queen, and when Viola was called up he clapped. She was one of the nice girls. And then... Zeke?!?! He'd been a good friend to him since he came out a few weeks ago, and so Tobias was very pleased with him winning. Not to mention the fact that he was gay. That was a huge step up in the world by way of tolerance.
His good mood was ruined by Brad. "Parking Lot, five minutes."
"I'm coming with you," he said firmly.

"Ohmygod, Zeke!"
Zeke had to laugh at how excited Marcoh was at the fact that they were getting ready to announce the homecoming king. While he was well aware that he was in the running Zeke honestly didn't expect to win, but just being nominated was a good start. "Save some of that energy for dancing later," he said, laughing.
"And the winner for Homecoming King is... Ezekiel Nayakan!"
Zeke couldn't believe that he had won. He just stood there for a moment, unable to respond in any way at all. This wasn't happening... it couldn't be...
"Oh my god, Zeke, that's amazing!"
"Did they have to use my full name?" he joked, smiling. He honestly didn't know what else to say, and was surprised he had managed that much. He hugged Marcoh back, now all-out grinning. "Thanks," he said, making his way up to where Viola was to get his crown and do that whole dance thing that was customary.
"Congradulations," he told Viola, offering his arm to her to lead her onto the floor like a gentleman.

((tehe firm. . . .I swear I'm a mature adult!)
Kyan was actually excited that a gay guy had won for king. .. and not some retard like Brad. He felt the shoulder bump into his and heard the words muttered. Oh, he'd be there all right.
"Fine, but get out of there if they get ridiculous," he said, waving to Viola as he turned to leave. "They want me because they've already gotten you and Ravi."

"Back atcha," Viola said with a grin, taking his arm. "Oh my what a gentleman."
She said it jokingly and pressed a hand to her heart. She liked Zeke he was a good guy, and if anyone deserved to win HC King, it was him. The music started playing, and she put her hands on his shoulders. She noticed Kyan get bumped by Toby and then leave with Toby behind him. She frowned and found her self hoping the dance would be quick. (I swear if you claim it's Stairway. . .we will have words.) She turned back and pasted on a grin.

Then they danced, and everyone watched, and it was kind of awkward because Zeke knew that everyone was thinking 'look, a gay guy is homecoming king!'. But that was okay, because Viola was a nice partner to dance with, which made it less weird. He still couldn't believe he had won. ((ooc- that sucked, but I wanted to do something so she could go join the fight.))
When the dance was over Zeke casually made his way back to Marcoh, motioning to the crown on his head with disbelief. "Crazy," he pointed out.

((you didn't have to do that. . . I was just having Viola be impatient because it's her BFF))
Once the song was over, Viola waved bye to Zeke and smiled at the principal before making her way towards the exit. She had made a quick pit stop to pick up her purse and was bombarded by a group of girls who had been on the soccer team, only a few of which she actually talked to, but all of whom wanted to congratulate her and assure her that she had always been the best captain. They were just ass kissing at this point and she squeezed her way past them, claiming some sort of peeing emergency and made her way out the doors.
Once out of the cafeteria, she unclasped the straps around her ankles and pulled off the heels. She stretched out her shoulders a bit and cracked her knuckles. No way were those assholes ruining any of her friends night. She rifled through the objects in her purse, doubling checking to make sure the mace her mom always made her take with her was inside. She smirked to herself as she made her way towards the parking lot.

"Crazy,"
"You mean, er, crazy.. crazily amazing!" he said, struggling to summarize his happy/surprised/overwhelmed/proud feelings into something coherent. Marcoh really was overjoyed, and it seemed to take every fiber of his being not to jump Zeke then and there - that and the fact that he wasn't sure how well the students of George Washington would react to two boys making out in front of the punch table.
He settled for pressing a hand to Zeke's chest, hoping to convey the sheer pleasure he felt just being with him that night as intimately as he could at a chaperoned school function. Fingering the fold of Zeke's suit jacket, he looked up at the boy, crown and all, and smiled, truly smiled as a surge of bliss rushed through him, drawing goosebumps to attention as he stared into Zeke's obsidian-esque eyes.
"Thank you," he said, taking on a more serious tone of voice despite earlier giddyness, "for inviting me tonight. You mean... it means the world to me."

Ezekiel wondered if there was any way this night could get any better. He had finally done something significant with his life. Not that he really had any control over being voted homecoming king, he hadn't planned on winning, even, but since he had it was a big deal. After all, he was openly homosexual, and homecoming king was a stereotypically 'manly' thing. Marjority rules, he supposed.
"Thank you for inviting me tonight. You mean... it means the world to me."
"Well, then I'm glad you could come with me. I can't imagine anyone else I'd rather share this with." As soon as the words had left his mouth he couldn't help but wonder where Caleb had run off to. After all, he was Zeke's best friend. Shouldn't he be there to share in his glory?
"So, may I have this dance?" he asked, holding out his arm to marcoh. he wasn't sure if Marcoh would want to, though he was well aware that the younger boy was a lot less self-conscious as of late. Zeke made sure that the question, when posed, was said in a way that didn't trap Marcoh into saying yell if he didn't want to.

“Well, of course you were! What did you expect? You’ll have to tell me all about it sometime! Sometime when we don’t have to scream over the thumpa-thumpa of the bass,”
Caleb smiled at that and began to respond when Mrs. Addison, the principal, took the stage with the former homecoming winners and two envelopes, one for the new king and one for the new queen. He could tell the announcements were coming, but had no idea who the nominees were, having left for England before they were announced. He could guess, however, that there were probably a bunch of jerks up for the awards, since it was a popularity contest for the most part, and the meaner they were the more friends they had. Or, at least, that's how it seemed.
"And this year's Homecoming Queen is... Viola Hastings!"
Wow, that was surprising. He didn't know Viola very well, but she and he were in GSA together, and he gathered from that that she was a good person. Certainly she deserved it more than the other preppy bimbos who were probably up.
"And the winner for Homecoming King is... Ezekiel Nayakan!"
Fuck. The one person he really didn't need to hear about; just thinking about the boy made Caleb irrationally jealous, despite the fact that he knew Zeke deserved the best, and that if Marcoh was the best, then good. At that moment, however, he pushed that thought aside and turned away from the stage, toward Liam.
"Hey, let's dance." he said, sure that Liam would agree. They'd always gotten along well and were comfortable enough with each other - not to mention Liam didn't have a date. At least, not one Caleb knew about. His cynical side told him that Liam probably got a boyfriend/girlfriend in the past weeks too, since it seemed fitting that everyone move on without him.

Liam clapped for Zeke when he won homecoming king, but stopped as Caleb looked a little nonplussed. He couldn't imagine why, as the last time he had checked Caleb and Zeke had been BFFs... unless something had happened recently to remove the 'forever' part of that equation. He was going to ask but thought better of it. After all, it really wasn't any of his business.
"Hey, let's dance."
"Yeah!" Liam agreed enthusiastically, not wanting anything more at that very moment than to spend a few minutes just dancing with Caleb, having a good time and relaxing. He grabbed the older boy by his shirt sleeve eagerly, pulling him out onto the dance floor. He could feel the rhythm of the beat enter his body through the floor, the vibrations becoming part of him. He absolutely loved dances, and this was perfect since he hadn’t been able to get a date.
And so they danced.
(ooc- lame... no excuse this time, other than it's late!)
