Thomas sat at an empty table in the caf, poking at something on his tray that looked entirely too suspicious to eat. Having no one to smoke with, he decided it was too cold to venture out by his lonesome. He'd brave the mystery meat instead.
Shoving his tray to one side, he felt around in his messenger bag until he pulled out his planner. He wanted to write some lyrics that had been stuck in his head all day.

Amelia plopped herself down on the chair across from the new kid and put her feet up on the chair next to her. There were a lot of new people around here. Sadly, only one cute girl. Also sadly, she wasn't sitting by herself.
"Hi, I'm Amelia. And you are?" she asked, taking a sip of her water.

"Thomas..." he replied, a little surprised by her abruptness. He was then distracted momentarily as Viola waved to him - he offered her a smile and waved back before turning his attentions back to Amelia.

Jude entered the lunch room and saw the hot kid e had met in the Library. He usually sat with a table of fellow 10th graders, but he decided they wouldn't miss him as he headed for Thomas's table with his tray. He was already sitting with a girl Jude was pretty sure was a lesbian but that didn't bother him in the slightest.
"Hey, can I sit with you guys?" he asked them.

Amelia looked up at the newcomer.
"Well sure, soldier," she said, pushing a chair out near him with her feet, "Unless you mind, Thomas." After all, she had only just sat down herself- it was only polite to ask. She liked to seem polite at first. It put their minds at ease.

Amelia donned a shocked expression.
"You guess so? I'm hot. Thomas - I mean, I don't like guys, but Thomas is definitely hot, for a guy. We are probably the two hottest seniors in this school," she concluded convincingly, looking around the room before sipping her water again.

Thomas blushed. He wasn't used to being complimented - the people at his old school, with the exception of Elliott, stayed away from him after he got on Blane's bad side. And guys, well, guys didn't usually compliment each other on their looks.
At least not aloud.

Jude didn't say much; he wasn't about to start lying and say that he thought Amelia was hot, but he also wasn't about to tell the truth and say he thought Thomas was hot. Oh, what to do, what to do?
"My sister thinks you're hot." he said to Thomas. He didn't know it for sure, but him and Jewls usually had the same interest in men.

Amelia looked up, distractedly. She was curious to know Thomas' answer... but her curiousity was overrruled by the presence of a guy at her side, wanting to know if he could take a seat.
...damnit, where were all the lesbians? she thought to herself. Instead of voicing her query, however, she settled for a polite, "Why sure, there, cowboy, you just take a seat. What's your name?" This was starting to become something of a game!
