"You look like a cowboy, Jack. Mind if I call you Jack? This is Thomas, and this here is Jude." She took a sip of water, and then added as an afterthought, "I'm Amelia. So. Where is back home?"

Riff was late for lunch which had put him in a slight panic. Then after he got his food his best friend, Jude, wasn't sitting at their normal table and Riff couldn't find him. He got really nervous when he was by himself and around a ton of people, especially seniors whom he found extremely intimidating. After a few minutes of frantic looking he managed to spot Jude at a table of what seem to be older students. He took a deep breath and waled over to the table. Most of the occupants seemed to be distracted by a tough looking guy wearing an ascot so as quietly and unnoticeable as he could Riff took a seat next to Jude and began to eat his pizza.

Thomas was about to respond to Amelia when Jack Sullivan approached the table... and then another kid, who seemed to know Jude. This was abnormal for the first day of a new school, wasn't it? People were actually sitting with him. Weird. And he couldn't even appreciate it. He just could not stop himself from wondering what Elliott was doing.

"I use ta live in New York," he explained to the girl. She seemed to be the only one actually interested in talking. ((How bout that: I'm the king of New York.))

"I have family in New York," Thomas said, not really sure what to say. It was fairly relevant, he supposed. He'd been to the city a lot, especially over the summer, to visit his cousins. He'd taken Elliott with him a bunch of times as well, which was really amusing. Elliott had never been anywhere outside of Pittsburgh, and as soon as he got off of the bus, it seemed the only direction he could look was up.

"I have family in Paris." said Jude flatly. He wanted to say something and that was the first thing that popped into his head. It was true; his father and all his family on his fathers side lived there. Jude only got to visit him twice a year because of it.

"So you've been dere from time ta time?" Jack said interestedly. It was always nice when people were famiilar with the area and not just New York City.
When that kid Jude or whatever the hell his name was spoke, Jack felt slightly uncomfortable.
"Yeah, I ain't got any family in New York or Paris," he admitted. "I got a cousin over at St. James, but that's about it."

Thomas nodded in response to Jack's inquiry, managing to look only slightly confused when he mentioned that he had no family in New York. He was then tempted to say he had no family here, but that was unfair. The people who gave birth to him were here, and he lived in their house, so technically they were family, he supposed.
"I used to go there. St. James, that is. I just got kicked out."

"D'you know a Vinnie Barrino?" he asked curiously. He mentioned getting kicked out of the school. "What for?"

Amelia looked from Jack to Thomas with raised eyebrows, very interested in hearing this answer. He sort of gave off the air of being a badass. Somehow, there was just something behind the way he spoke and in his eyes that said otherwise.
In love?
...that had to be it.
