"Well, apparently no, but I have my doubts." said Audrey, "That's just when he's sober though; when he's drunk I've heard from a very reliable source that when he's drunk gender doesn't matter to him." Audrey smirked and took a sip of her drink.
"I mean, I've never actually seen him with a girl friend so who knows." Audrey shrugged. "His idol his Freddy Mercury. . . " Audrey frowned and gave her drink a funny look. She then just shrugged it off and continued drinking.

A low profile? He chuckled bitterly at the thought. He hadn't wanted to talk to or see anyone once he'd come back to school. He'd wallowed in hatred and self doubt and misery for months. It had finally been his sister, ironically, who had brought him back to reality.
His ridiculous formerly Wiccan goth sister. She was now one of those emo kids. The kind he and all his friends had made fun of as well. Casey had bordered on emo, with his slanted bangs and thick rimmed glasses. Just the thought of him, wrenched at his heart. He drank some more to cover for it: anythign to drive away the pain.
His sister had come into his room one day, practically destroyed everything in sight. All of his posters were torn, his dvds littered the floor in various states of destruction, and then she'd slapped him. She had slapped him! The outcast had physically knocked sense into her older 'bro'. It had been so unexpected, so utterly random, that it had worked. She reminded him that he had a life to live, and that there were some - albeit few- people who still gave two shits about him.
"Most people haven't seen me this year," he admitted. "I guess I was just trying to avoid everyone."

"See you, Vi." said Vinnie before taking Zanna's hand and leading her to another room to sit down on a couch. He felt bad just suddenly walking away from Vi and leaving her alone, but he was afraid he would say something about JD that might upset her. It wasn't that Vinnie didn't like JD; from what he'd seen he seemed nice enough. It was just that the age gap bothered him a bit.
"Well, that was mildly awkward. . ." said Vinnie with a small frown. Part of the awkwardness had come from events that happened earlier in the week. This was the first time Vinnie had seen Viola after the whole locker room fiasco. That wasn't something he could talk about though; he'd promised he'd keep Viola's secret and he intended to do so.
"Anyway," he said, shaking off the awkwardness of everything, "Can I get you anything? Another drink? Some water? I'm sure I could find some food here if you're hungry. . ."

"Sure!" said Ravi desperatly, "Anything you say!" Ravi could only imagine the type fo teasing JD would have to endure from his father if he ever found out about this.
"Um. . . why are you here anyway?" Ravi couldn't help but ask. Even though he was talking to JD, he was sure to keep an eye on Kyan whom was still just talking to Audrey. Hopefully she would be enough to distract him for a while.

Brooke smiled at Tadhg. She was more and more surprised by him with every passing hour, that much was for sure. So he didn't drink? At least not yet. Good for him! She found that rather admirable... even a little bit of a turn-on.
"You're not missing much... except the inability to control yourself," she added, watching a drunk boy off to the side do some horribly primitive thrusting motion against a girl who - not drunk - looked like she was going to vomit at the act.

Faye nodded, glad that Garrett wasn't going to let this get him down. "Good," she said, taking another sip of her drink. She wasn't sure how her parents were really going to react to her bringing Garrett home for a night or two, but she was sure that they would understand. Her mother was one of those people who were easy to appeal to in those situations. She wasn't too worried.
"So, I vote we start heading in the opposite direction of Blane a while, just in case he decides to come back for seconds," she started. "I'm pretty sure that after one more drink he won't be able to cross the entire room without falling over." There was a smirk on her face that clearly showed the couple's superiority over Blane.

Tobias could tell that Andy was bothered by the fact that he hadn't told Kyan the complete truth. This clarified one thing in his mind: the kiss hadn't just been a thing. He knew that he had felt a connection, but he hadn't been sure if Andy had or not. The fact that this bothered him meant that he'd felt something when they'd kissed as well.
"No... do you think I should have?" he asked. "I just... I don't know. Ravi was making such a big deal about everything that I figured I might tell him later, in private. He seems to get a little psychotic when Ravi gets involved... I didn't want Ravi to know we'd kissed, or he probably would've made the situation worse for Kyan by trying to help... Kyan doesn't deal with emotions well."
Should he have told Kyan? And what should he have told him? That he had a boyfriend? He was dating? They'd just kissed? He wasn't sure what the hell was going on because things seemed to be happening so quickly... And yet he knew that Andy was right, and he would have to tell Kyan something. If Andy was willing to commit to a relationship, give it a real try, then Toby would be willing to tell Kyan that their open relationship was over. But he had to know that Andy really wanted to date him first, and that this wasn't some Halloween Pary fling. Hopefully by the end of the night things on that end would have cleared up.

Zanna couldn't help but smile and give a quiet laugh at Vinnie's eagerness.
"I'm fine, really," she insisted as they sat down. "But thanks," she added, knowing that he was just trying to be helpful and make a good impression. She felt a little bad for Viola, who seemed to sense that Vinnie had been a little uncomfortable. She couldn't help but wonder why he was so worried about her, though. Surely she knew right from wrong and could take care of herself? Then again, Vinnie seemed like the sort of person to look out for all of his friends, which was sweet.
"You seem to know everyone here," she noticed. "Quite the popular one." She wasn't sure if he really was the popular type or not, but he seemed like he easily could have been. Most of his friends seemed to be fairly popular themselves.

"Oh, well, just the St. James kids mostly." said Vinnie with a slight blush, "Since the school is kinda smaller everyone pretty much knows everyone else. I mean, I just kinda randomly met Viola at Starbucks the one day, that's really the only reason I know her. Well, that and her cousin goes to my school and um, I guess is kinda in our group . . ." Vinnie remembered the other week when he drove Tod's girl friend, Brooke, home after Blane kissed her during their King and Queen dance at Home Coming. Him and Tad really didn't have the chance to talk since then so he didn't really know how Tad felt about it.
"Well, you knew Viola too, and there's plenty of other George Washington kids here," said Vinnie, I'm sure you know just as many people as I do." Vinnie had notice there were a number of kids he'd seen around town, but didn't go to his school. The kid who Audrey was flirting with looked vaguely familiar and obviously he knew Ravi, Desmond's squirrelly younger cousin.

"No... do you think I should have?"
"Oh. . .well, I mean . . . no," he said uncertainly. "I mean not if you didn't think it was worth mentioning."
Toby went on to explain why he'd refrained from mentioning anything to Ravi and Andy found himself wondering once more what this kid had to do with any of them.
"Kyan doesn't deal with emotions well."
"What? I always though of him as more of a deep, emotionally stable kind of guy," he said with a hint of sarcasm, hoping to ease some of the tension created by the whole ordeal. Which was quickly undone by his next words. "Why do you stay with him, if he can't even realize what he's got? I mean, if I was him, and I had the choice, I wouldn't pick fucking around over you."
There, he'd said it and now he'd have to deal with the consequences. Toby could either laugh in his face, leave him on the spot, or -optimistically- reciprocate somehow. Either way, he couldn't stand not knowing anymore, torturing himself wasn't one of his favorite pastimes.

"I second that motion," Garrett said, also taking another sip of his drink.
He shot a withering stare over at Blane as he moved towards the other end of the room with Faye, regardless of his comments. He wished he could just have normal relatives. Instead of. . .well Blane.

Tad followed Brooke's gaze at the boy who was more likely than not about to experience the joys of a public bitch slapping. He shook his head sadly at the display.
"Oh, I don't know," he said, attempting to keep a straight face as he let his voice slip somewhat back into bro mode. "Losing controls looks pretty sweet to me."

"Oh, Viola asked me to come," he answered to Ravi's question. "I told her I'd stop in, meet some of her friends, and then head over to the bar with my peeps." ((My peeps are on the fritz. ::chuckles: He paused and glanced down at his cape and scrubs, and grinned. He knew his friends would be decked out to. Halloween was a time for them to really let loose. "I'll have to change costumes to match the other theme, but it'll be cool," he said.

Desmond frowned. "I know the feeling." he said. When he first came back to school after his 'accident' he was keen on avoiding people who he knew would want to talk to him about it. He could see Cal feeling the same way even though his situation was slightly different; he hadn't been the one the try suicide, it had been someone close to him that went through with it. That would be enough to put anyone in a state of depression and seclusion. There was that and the fact that Cal wasn't so popular with certain groups of people, one of them being Desmond's particular group of people; the gays and the people who support them.
"Buuuuut, I bounced back pretty quick!" he said with a smile and a very small hop, "Of course I don't expect everyone to recover as quickly as I did, but I found that having friends helps." Desmond wasn't trying to rub it in Cal's face that he had more friends that he did, he was just trying to encourage Cal to be more social and talk to people and make more friends.

Kyan laughed at Audrey's comment.
"Gender never matters to me," he said and raised his glass as if in mock toast. "Why narrow down you're options?"
He blinked again and squinted at the boy in question. He shook his head as he looked back at Audrey.
"He's not my type," he decided. "He's too emo for my taste."

"Gender never matters to me, Why narrow down you're options?"
"Oh Lord," said Audrey rolling her eyes, "I can understand narrowing my options; I hate women. All of my friends are guys, mostly gay guys and all of my sex partners are guys, coincidentally, mostly gay guys. Women are such whiny, cunty, bitches. I've never had trouble understanding why there was homosexuality in the world." ((I know this contradicts things Audrey has said in the past, but I've changed my mind about her sexual preference.)) Part of Audrey's detest for woman was because of her being raised by two gay men and the fact that she couldn't help but feeling slightly abandoned by her mother even though she was only acting as a surrogate mother.
"He's not my type, He's too emo for my taste."
Audrey choked on her sip of her drink with laughter, "Well, I think it's more for the costume, but I'll be happy to tell him you thought that," said Audrey, wiping at her mouth with a napkin she got off the counter, "He hates it when he's called 'emo'. He always get offensive and says that he's 'punk'." Audrey explained while rolling her eyes in Paul's direction. "I'll admit, I've seen far more Emo looking kids them him when he's dressed normally."

"Oh. . .well, I mean . . . no. I mean not if you didn't think it was worth mentioning."
"Oh, but I do," Toby said, afraid that he was losing credibility with Andy quickly. "Just, I figured it could wait until I could tell him one-on-one." He was afraid of saying the wrong thing at this point, and knew that he may be treading on thin ice for his slip-up with Kyan. He should've just told him. Why couldn't he work up the courage to tell him back then in the kitchen?
"What? I always though of him as more of a deep, emotionally stable kind of guy,"
Toby laughed, figuring that he would drop the subject then, but realized quickly that he was wrong.
"Why do you stay with him, if he can't even realize what he's got? I mean, if I was him, and I had the choice, I wouldn't pick fucking around over you."
A fierce blush rose in Toby's cheeks, one that he was unable to hide. He could feel his face flush as he averted his eyes towards the drink in his hand for just a moment, unable to meet Andy's gaze.
"I... I mean, he..." Toby gave a nervous half-smile. "He's done a lot for me. If it wasn't for him I would've been homeless for the past month," he pointed out. "When he was in the hospital he said he had feelings for me, and I thought he meant it, but... but then he had the whole Open Relationship deal, so... I guess I expected too much?" Toby admitted, finally lifting his eyes to look at Andy's face.
But the words Andy spoke wouldn't leave his head. 'If I was him', he had said. Did that mean, he wanted to date for real? Officially? There was only one way to find out. Maybe it was the alcohol in him (though it wasn't much), but Toby found himself asking exactly what was on his mind.
"What if you were him?" he asked, then realized he would have to re-phrase that since Andy had no idea what his train of thought was. "I mean... I know we kissed, and this is technically a date, but... nothing was ever really... official," Toby finished, albeit lamely. He sighed. "What I meant to say was, do you want to go out with me? Officially? As in... boyfriends?"
It was just then that he realized how very boy retarded he was. He hadn't gotten this way in front of any other guys, though... just Andy.
He held his breath, not sure what Andy's response would be. Either yes, or no, he supposed. But at least the question was out in the open now. He'd asked it, and by the end of this conversation he'd have no more questions as to what their relationship status was.

"Viola asked you to come?" said Ravi, tilting his head in confusion like a cat. "Oh, ok." he said with a shrug. At first he found the age gap to be a bit odd, but then again Ravi always thought that JD had the mind of a high school student (this thought was furthered by JD's use of the word 'peeps') so him and Viola would be on the same page emotionally.
"I came by myself." he admitted, "It was either this or go trick or treating with my parents and siblings and have to hear my dad complain after every single house and then my moms complain about how he's not around enough." Every year Ravi's moms would dress up to take the kids trick or treating and guilt Ravi's father into coming, but so far haven't guilt him enough to get him to dress up. Normally Ravi wouldn't spill this much about his home like, but he'd already had a beer and a half and was starting to feel a bit loose.
"But, now I'm keeping an eye on him." he pointed at Kyan who was still talking to Audrey, "He's having problems with his boyfriend and I don't want him to do anything stupid." he added in a whisper. Ravi shot an angry glare at Toby.

Paul shot Audrey an annoyed look at how she reacted to his scar. If she didn't like it she didn't have to look in Paul's opinion. However, Paul did quickly fix his hair so it was covering his scare again. Apparently the sight had chased JD away. Oh well! At least Paul had gotten a drink out of it! The kitchen was starting to bore him so Paul decided to venture elsewhere.
He saw two people whom he'd been quickly introduced to at Desmond's house; Faye and Garrett. He hadn't really gotten the chance to talk to the two of them so he thought that now would be a good time! Paul liked making new friends!
"Hello!" he said brightly as he went over to the couple, "enjoying the party?"

Zanna nodded to Vinnie.
"Oh, yeah, I recognize quite a few people, actually," she said, looking around the room at many familiar faces from her own high school. "I guess I'm just not that close with any of them... I've never really had the time to do a lot of social networking. I'm pretty busy, between skating and work. Oh, and homework. My parents would make me quit my job if I lost my straight A's, and without my job I can't fund all of my competitions, so..." Zanna trailed off, taking another sip of her drink.
"Sorry... I'm really trying not to relate everything back to skating!" She said quickly, knowing how annoying it must get for other people. Just because it was most of her life didn't mean they gave a rat's ass about it! "So, how about you? You said you were in band, right? How is that, since the season's almost over," she said, trying to change the subject away from her for a little.

Faye was about to say something to Garrett about Blane being an ass when the English boy she'd only just met back at Desmond's house bounded over to them, asking how the party was. What was his name... oh, she was so bad at names... P... P-something...
"Hey..." she started, when it finally came to her. "...Paul!" She finished with an almost triumphant smile after only a moment's hesitation. "Oh, despite a little drama it's going alright," she admitted. "At least, it's sure to get a lot better now!" Faye added optimistically. "How about you? Having fun?"

Andy could understand him wanting to tell Kyan alone. If he had someone like that, he figured it would be best not to do it in public. Especially with someone like Kyan who had a reputation to maintain.
He then went on to explain that he felt like he owed Kyan for being nice to him. And that he'd seemed sincere about his feelings for him. Andy couldn't begin to think of how to respond to that, so he remained silent: his brows furrowing ever so slightly as he took another sip of his beer.
"What if you were him? I mean... I know we kissed, and this is technically a date, but... nothing was ever really... official. What I meant to say was, do you want to go out with me? Officially? As in... boyfriends?"
Andy could hardly believe what he was being asked. He choked slightly on his beer before looking over at Toby with his normally wide eyes wider than ever.
"I. . ." he said dazedly, before letting a chuckle escape his lips out of nerves. "Uh yeah. YEah, I don't think I'd want anything more."

"I don't know if enjoy is the right word," Garrett grumbled with a sidelong glance at his cousin. "But yeah, things should be starting to get a lot more fun."
As Faye asked what was going on with him, he took the break to finish off his beer. Luckily for him he had the Smirnoff in his other hand. He looked around for a place to set down his empty cup, finally locating a spot on the coffee table. He leaned over and set it down before looking back over at the english kid, to hear what he had to say.

For a longer period of time than he was comfortable with, Andy didn't respond. Tobias was afraid that he was going to say no, explain that he wasn't looking for a relationship right now, or something equally damaging to Toby's self-esteem. So he was already preparing himself for the letdown when Andy finally spoke.
"I. . . Uh yeah. YEah, I don't think I'd want anything more."
"Really?" Toby asked, unable to help the childish grin of relief that spread over his face. "That's great!" He admitted, no longer trying to hide the relief. "I just wasn't sure... if... nevermind. I have a boyfriend," he realized, speaking quietly and more to himself than to Andy before regaining his composure. He had a boyfriend. He and Andy were dating. Wow.
"I mean, so... listen, I'm going to tell Kyan tonight, I promise. But I have to tell you something else, too. My parents came to visit me in the hospital... they said I could move back in. My dad even seemed impressed at how I handled the situation, sort of... and I can't live on the Walker's couch forever," he added.
His moving out meant that he wouldn't be living with Kyan any more, which he felt would be best for everyone at this point. After all, if he was going to be dating Andy, it would get awkward living with Kyan, especially after the whole 'open relationship' thing... He hoped that his moving out would be comforting to Andy, who didn't seem to really approve of the whole Kyan situation from the start.
"I wasn't sure if I was going to move back home, but... well, now it just seems like the right thing to do."

"No, it's the hair," Kyan said shaking his head in large sweeping motions. "But I don't really give two fucks what high school click he falls under. He's just not my type"
He furrowed his brow again as he caught site of Toby and Andy. There they were out there talking. Although the sober part of his brain was telling him that he had no right to be upset. After all, he had wanted the open relationship: and Toby was just hanging out at a party with Andy. The drunk part of his brain was telling him what he really needed was someone to distract himself with. That had never failed him in the past. He helped that part of his brain along with another generous swig of his vodka.
