"You're really going to make me say it again?"
Tobias shook his head, but didn’t say anything. What could he say? All this time Kyan had been trying to hook up with him, all of that time he thought that he was just another guy, just another target of sorts. A goal, since Kyan hadn’t been able to ‘get’ him their first few encounters. But now, now everything was different. If Kyan really had feelings for him…
So what if he did? What did that mean now? Did Kyan want to have a relationship? To date and go out like normal people? Or did it just mean that when they ended up having sex it would just mean a little more than all those other guys? Did it mean that Kyan was ready to stop fucking around, literally, with other guys? There were so many things that were unclear, but this was hard enough for Kyan as it was, so Toby decided not to question him on these things just yet.
"Yes, really," he said. ". . .I wouldn't . . .joke about this shit."
“No, of course you wouldn’t,” Tobias agreed, unable to hold back the smile that was tugging at the corners of his lips. Kyan liked him! He wondered how long he had felt that way and been unable to admit it. Toby had harbored his own crush ever since they had met that time in the bathroom, and while he’d acted on his feelings during their several make out sessions he had always tried to ignore them, knowing that they would never lead to anything. Obviously he’d been wrong.
"Look. . .I'm just as. . .surprised as you are. . .but it's the truth,"
“I don’t know what to say,” Toby admitted. He didn’t want to say the wrong thing, but his shock was too great for his mind to form a comprehensive response. “Except… I feel the same way.” He thought that if he was to say anything, it was most important that Kyan know that he had a crush on him, had those ‘girly feelings’ too.
Then, deciding that no harm could come of it, he leaned gently over Kyan on the bed, careful not to touch his injured area, and kissed him. And somehow, this kiss was better and more fulfilling than any of their previous ones.

As the conversation dragged on, Kyan began to suspect he might have mad a fool of himself. That Toby didn't feel quite the same way as he did. After a short stretch of silence, however, Toby finally said what Kyan had wanted to hear. That he felt the same. . . more or less. Every time he had sought after Toby, he had felt a strange sort of fear, that Toby might be rejecting him. He wasn't accustomed to this new fear; a fear that meant he cared what someone else thought about him, but he hardly had time to think about this as Toby leaned ovr him on the bed and kissed him.
He knew he shoud be careful of his injuries, but he wouldn't have cared if they'd ripped open at this point. He leaned forward slightly, into the kiss and felt Toby's warm lips meet his. It wasn't as heated as many of their others, but it was oddly satisfying. When he finally broke away, he glance awkwardly over at Toby. . .he didn't know what to say in moments like these, so he contende dhimself with just taking Toby in, his ruffled hair, the unkempt condition of his suite, it all seemed to enhance his beauty at the moment.

Toby thought he may have heard something move outside of the door, but ignored it. It was quiet, silent between the two of them now.
"I'm almost afraid to say anything," he admitted, saying the first thing that came to his mind to avoid an awkward silence that he was willing to bet neither of them would handle well in this situation. It was also the truth. This kiss had meant more to him than any of their previous encounters, back when he thought Kyan was just interested in him as another trophy to hang on his wall. He didn't want to screw up whatever it was that the two of them may have.
He followed Kyan's eyes down to his rough appearance and laughed a little. "My mother would flip if she saw me like this. Hell, she'd flip if she knew I was here at all," he admitted.
ooc- I vote the police and/or Kyan's parents show up now, since neither of us know what to say anymore. Hehehe.

((well considering you're the popo. . .))
JD had been standing awkwardly away from the door, not wanting to inerrupt whatever was goin on in thre. He had noticed the girl leave, she had winked at him as she walked by to wait in the entrance for someone or another. Then he noticed the young boy who stood and seemed to be listneing intently to the conversation going on insid. on one hand he awas tempted to tell him to respect a patient's privacy, but he stopped himself before speaking, deciding it probably wasn't any of his business.
He glanced down th hall and spotted the police coming inside. They probably wanted to question the stab victim. He wondered idly if it had gone down like Nardo and Riff. He had a vision of a crazy gangsta hispanic guy clasping hands with the blonde guy inside th eward and dancing aroun da hiigh school parking lot.
He walked over to the officer and motined for her to follow him. "He's down this way," he said, heading back to the kid's room. He knocked once and burst into the room.
"The popos is here!" he said in an attempt to sound "hip" which failed beautifully. His surgeon friend would be ashamed. "I just. . .always wanted to say that. . ."

Why did every part of Ravi's life have to suck? Seriously! This whole situation was the biggest backfire for him ever! This is so unfair. Ravi was about to do his usual thing of running away and crying when the young intern his father liked to make fun of went by and open the door. It scared the absolute shit out of Ravi because there he'd been lost in his own pathetic and depressed thoughts when all of a sudden this guy just burst passed him! Ravi squealed in shock and fell over then ran away to go cry in the bathroom.

Regina had received the call about the stabbing incident at the George Washington prom and had gotten very worried. Her little sister went to George Washington, and after having been kicked out of St. James for fighting too much, well, she had every right to get nervous. When she arrived and found out that Katrina had nothing to do with the incident she felt a little relieved, but knew that this was still a serious case. Teenagers didn't like to "rat out" their fellow students, and would often lie to protect them, or spare themselves from future incidents. The young doctor's words jolted her from her thoughts as she entered a room with two boys inside.
"The popos is here! I just. . .always wanted to say that. . ."
"And now that you have, could you never do it again?" Regina joked, with a small smile on her face. Starting things like this off with a little bit of humor usually helped, though it was a serious situation and she didn't want to be too funny.
"So, can I assume that you're Kyan Walker?" Reggie asked the boy in the hospital bed, pulling out her notepad and pen, ready to take a few notes.

"If it isn't I must be in the wrong bed," Kyan said simply.
He'd moved only slightly when the officer came in, trying to get into a more comfortable position. He sighed and figured he might as well make this as painless as possible for both of them.
"I assume you've got questions for me, fire away," he said.

"If it isn't I must be in the wrong bed,"
"I'm glad you still have a sense of humor... or sarcasm... even after being stabbed. Always a good sign," she said, only half-joking.
"I assume you've got questions for me, fire away,"
Regina nodded. She was glad that Kyan was cooperating because she had to do this with plenty of people who would rather kill themselves than help file a police report of an attack such as this one. Especially young kids.
"First things first. Are you under 18?" If he was then he had the right to wait until his parents showed up to answer any questions.

The cop seemed either shocked or impressed by him, and had he been in a different situation, he might have cared a little more. As it was, he was more interested in simply answering her questions.
"I'm 19," he said by means of answering. "So, no I'm not."

Toby stood off to the side, keeping his mouth shut. He wished that there was something he could do to help Kyan, like answer his questions for him so that he could go back to resting. After all, he'd been through a lot, and as soon as he had been done with surgery (or whatever) he'd been bombarded by Toby, Ravi, and Viola.
Since their conversation had been interrupted, though, Toby was left thinking about a lot of things. Like where did this leave the two boys in their progressing 'relationship'? So much was left undecided, but he knew that now was neither the time nor the place...

The fact that Kyan was of age helped her out a lot. "Okay, so I'm just going to need you to give me a recap of what happened tonight. Where you were, who was involved, as specific as you can remember," she said, ready to jot down notes on whatever information Kyan could give her. The more information the better.

Kyan closed his eyes a moment, trying to gather his bearings. He wanted this all to be over with now. . .to be out of the hospital and back home. . . or at the dance. He sighed though. . .that wasn't going to be happening.
"I. . .there was. . .a fight," he said. " . . .we were at the, um, homecoming dance. . .and two evans. . .little shits. . .wanted to fight 'cause. . .I like guys. I went out. . .they had a bat. . .and started swinging. I got a punch in--"
He smirked despite the situation, at least he'd planted one on the dumb shit's face. He then grinned over at Toby slightly. He'd gone after Randy with the bat. He motioned to Toby with his head for the officer's benefit.
"He stopped the kid with a bat. . . and then my friend Viola. . .brought mace and told them . . to leave," he continued. "After that. . . .he pulled out a knife and. . .stabbed me. Vi, she maced 'em and. . .then I don't remember much. . .they brought me here. . ."
When he mentioned getting stabbed, for her benefit he pulled back the covers and showed his lovely knew stitches.

Regina jotted down a few notes, most of which were in shorthand she had picked up over the past few years so that she didn't miss any important information. She had to make sure she didn't write so quickly as to make her handwriting illegible to even herself, though. That was a bad habit she had fallen into recently, and needed to work on correcting.
"So, there was a fight at the dance, and... two evans? As in, people with the last name Evan?" she asked, hoping to clarify. She glanced over at the boy standing next to Kayn Walker's bed, kind of as a sign that he could answer the question as well, if he could. "And this all happened because you're gay, so we're going to classify it as a 'hate crime'."
Regina noted that the boy in the corner, the one who stopped the kid with the bat, had also been involved. "Do you have anything to add?" she added to him, figuring extra testimony wouldn't hurt the case.

Tobias stood there, smiling a little as Kyan smirked, mentioning Toby's small role in the fight that he was describing. He was a little stunned when the attention of the policewoman was turned on him, since he wasn't the injured one here, and took a moment to recover before he could answer her question.
"Yeah, the Evans brothers, Randy and Brad. They were the ones who attacked us. And it was a hate crime. And... Kyan pretty much covered everything else," he said, not thinking of anything else he could add.

Kyan let Toby clarify things to the cop. Yeah that'd be nice, getting this filed as a hate crime. It more or less was. Brad and Randy had always hated him because of his lifestyle, and that hatred had turned into a mutual loathing over time. What with Toby coming out and them discovering what others knew about the two of them at the party. . .and in the pool room. . .and in the hallways. . .he should have seen this coming.
"I'm very thorough," Kyan commented, blearily stifling a yawn.

Regina took down the names of the two boys who had attacked Kyan, writing them boldly at the top of her page so that she would remember to do that first once she got back to the office. Catching the two of them before they tried to do anything stupid like flee town would be her new priority.
Hate crimes were common in the city, but very rarely was something done about them. She hoped to change that with this case, especially due to the nature of the crime. Usually they were just hate messages, graffiti, or a simple fist-fight. But for a knife to be involved, with kinds who may be underage, and on school grounds? This one had a lot more going for it.
"I'm very thorough,"
"That you are, Mr. Walker," she said. "Alright. Thank you boys for all your help. Just one more thing before I can let you get some rest. Assuming we manage to arrest both Randy and Brad Evans, would you want to press charges?"

"Sure, why the hell not?" Kyan said with a bit of a smirk. "Might as well. . ."
((Ugh I keep forgetting he's supposed to be doped up and slightly incoherent. . .that's so inconvenient when I want to make sarcastic jokes.))
He could only assume once he was completely in control of his thoughts, he'd still want to press charges. It was about time some of the queers started standing up to the heteros.
"Anything else I can help you with, officer?" he asked carelessly.

Regina made a note about Kyan possibly pressing charges.
"We - that is, I, or someone else from the Police Station - will contact you again later once one or both of them are in custody, just to confirm your decision. So you still have some time to think about it, this was just so we can get a feel for the situation," she explained.
"Anything else I can help you with, officer?"
"Nope. Other than what we've covered, I don't have anything else to discuss with you today. We'll be in touch, Mr. Walker. Thanks for your help, and hope you feel better soon."
With that, Regina closed her notebook nodded to Kyan, the other boy, and turned to leave the room.
((ooc- unless you had something else to say, just assume she left))

"Fantastic," Kyan answered in response to her mentioning someone would contact him. His voice lacked any real enthusiasm, but it also lacked hostility.
"Thanks for your help, and hope you feel better soon.
"I'll work on that," he said, as she left. "Damn I could go for a cigarette. . . ."
He chuckled slightly at that thought, as did Viola who looked half tempted to thwack him on the back of his head like an Italian mother, but thought better of it at the last moment.
