Viola helped support Kyan into the hospital, sagging slightly due to Kyan letting his full weight fall on her. If he wasn't bleeding, she'd have made a crack about his easing up on the donuts. She walked up to the front desk looking around half expectantly, half confusedly.
"Ok people, let's look alive," Viola said. "I've got a bleeding best friend here."

Ravi quickly ran after Viola who had popped out of the car like a gazelle with Kyan. She was moving pretty fast for having to practically carry a full grown male. When Ravi got out of the car he still had his jacket in his hand which was positively dripping with blood. Ravi took one look at it and nearly passed out. He had to throw it aside otherwise he would have fainted instead of running after Viola, which he did. There were quite a few people staring at him and he couldn't quite figure out why until he noticed he had quite a bit of blood on him. He ignored the stares and continued over to Viola.
For someone who's best friend just got stabbed and was bleeding to death, Viola seemed to be calm enough to make witty comments. If Ravi were in her position, which he practically was, he'd be completely losing it and scream at everyone he could for help. Ravi went up to the nurse at the counter, whom he knew from visiting his dad at work a few times.
"Where's my dad?!" he asked the nurse desperately. He should have been there waiting for him!

Rivers had gotten the call from his son not to long ago and was on his way to the emergency room with a stretcher and a few other doctors when he heard Ravi asking the nurse where he was. "I'm here!" he cried as he stopped, panting, in front of Ravi, some girl, and the bleeding boy who Rivers recognized as one of the bar tenders at Babylon. "I didn't expect you here so fast!" he said as two of the doctors with him lift Kyan on to the stretcher and began taking care of him. "We going to take him back to the OR so you two are going to have to wait here." he told them before Kyan was wheeled back to the OR and Rivers followed.

((Hey. . .I never said Viola carried him in by herself. . .I just said she helped support him.))
Viola, who had been making demands and not witty comments, watched as they put Kyan on the stretcher and carried him back to the OR. She walked with him, holding his hand as far as they'd allow her to go. Once he was gone, she looked around as though lost. Now they had to wait. . .and she was terrible at waiting. All sorts of terrible things went through her mind when she had to wait. She felt her face crinkly up and let out a sob as she covered her face with her hand. She realized in some part of her mind that she would now have blood stains on her face, but didn't care right at this point in time.

Viola had seemed reasonably calm through the whole affair, but as soon as Kyan was out of her sight she completely broke down. Ravi felt so bad for her; sure he had a major crush on Kyan, but Viola was Kyan's best friend. Ravi, who was still very shaken up, but had managed to stop his crying, went over to Viola and put an arm around her shoulder. "I'm sure he'll be fine." he said gently, trying to convince himself as much as her. The fact that his father was there helped him feel a lot better. "We should probably sit down. . ." he lead her over to the waiting area. Then he realized Toby hadn't come in with them. He was probably busy with the cop who had tried to pull them over. Ravi was sure that once Toby explained what had happened the cop would understand.

The cop had pulled over and was waiting for him as Viola and Ravi took Kyan into the hospital to be treated. Shit, there was blood everywhere! His back seat looked like he'd murdered someone there, the gray seats now stained dark red with Kyan's blood. The cop took one look at Kyan leaving his car, the mess in Toby's back seat, and shook his head. After a short discussion about how there are ambulances for a reason, but he wasn't going to give him a ticket, just to try and think ahead next time, Toby was allowed to park his car and meet his friends in the waiting room.
"Is Kyan alright?" he asked Ravi, since Viola was a wreck.

((I feel obligated to post something.))
Kyan closed his eyes as Viola helped him inside the hospital. He didn't want to put all of his weight on her, but he was feeling dizzy form the lack of blood. He was relieved for himself and for everyone when the doctors laid him out on a stretcher. He was aware of Viola's hand as she walked with him to the door, but not much else as he let himself be taken away. He felt himself drifting off into some form of unconsciousness.

Toby finally came in looking as disheveled as Ravi and Viola, but with far less blood on him than the other two since he hadn't been sitting in the back taking care of Kyan. "I-I don't know." said Ravi, still shocked at how calm he was being, "M-my dad just took him back. . . but I'm sure my dad will take care of him." Once again he was trying to reassure himself just as much as Toby. Even though he was calm he was incredibly shaky and had tightened his grip on Viola with out realizing it.

Viola allowed herself to be led over to the waiting room by Ravi. She was crying now, but not in a hysterical way any longer. She rarely cried, and was told by some of her friends that when she did it made people uncomfortable. She felt the tears streaming down her cheeks mixing with mascara, liner and cover up as they went. She couldn't help but be distraught. Kyan had been her best friend since elementary school: she didn't know what she'd do without him.
Toby came in and Ravi was good enough to answer him, but not as firmly as she would have liked them all to be. She felt Ravi's grip tighten and didn't even bother to tell him to loosen up.
"It wasn't that bad though. . .right?" she said. "It---it can't be life threatening right? He didn't have time to get the knife deep enough. . ."

Rivers had been in the OR helping out with Kyan; they had learned his name from the ID they found in his wallet. He thought that he should give Ravi and the others in the waiting room an update on Kyan's condition so he trusted the boy with his colleagues and left the OR to talked to the panicking teenagers in the other room.
Once Rivers was out there he noticed another boy had joined the original two who had brought in Kyan. From the looks of him he had been involved as well because he too had blood on him.
"Kyan is going to be fine." he told them right away before getting to the details. "The knife didn't hit any of his vital organs, which I must say is a complete miracle considering where he was stabbed. He did loose a lot of blood though, but not nearly as much as he would have lost had you all just waited for an ambulance to come. He should make a full recovery, but I'd like to keep him here for just a few days to make sure his wound is healing properly. Right now Kyan is still in the OR, but once we have him in the recovery room I'll let you all come and see him, but before that there are a few other matters we need to discuss. First of all, I'd like you all to contacted your parents, and I'll need Kyan's number so we can call his. And also we've altered the authorities, so there should be a police officer here soon to talk to you about what happened. If you're not eighteen you'll need your parents around for that. Any questions?"

Viola let out an audible sound of relief at the doctor's words. He was going to be ok. .. that was what mattered. Her best friend would be all right.
"I have his number, so I can call his mom and dad if you want," she offered. She figured it might be better if someone they knew told them. She realized that she still had on her crown, Homecoming Queen seeming so far away.

There was a lot of debating going on. No one was really sure if Kyan would be alright, which wasn't very reassuring. Tobias hoped that he would be okay... this whole night had gone so horribly wrong. He had just shown up to have a good time at his last homecoming dance, and now... now he was spending the night at the hospital.
Kyan is going to be fine."
Good. Tobias felt a rush of relief sweep over him, and knew that the others did as well. He had been worried, what with all of the blood (that was now all over his car, as well as himself and his two friends)...
"The knife didn't hit any of his vital organs, which I must say is a complete miracle considering where he was stabbed. He did loose a lot of blood though, but not nearly as much as he would have lost had you all just waited for an ambulance to come."
This made Toby glad that he'd thought to drive him himself. It also made him glad that he hadn't panicked and pulled over when the cop had started to chase them. He was sort of proud of himself, happy that he could have made somewhat of a difference when it came to Kyan's well being. It was then that Toby realized that he really did like Kyan, because he felt a lot more nervous about him than he should have for just a friend. He supposed that living with a person could have that effect.
"He should make a full recovery, but I'd like to keep him here for just a few days to make sure his wound is healing properly. (...) First of all, I'd like you all to contacted your parents, and I'll need Kyan's number so we can call his. And also we've altered the authorities, so there should be a police officer here soon to talk to you about what happened. If you're not eighteen you'll need your parents around for that. Any questions?"
Tobias shook his head. "Staying at Kyan's house is going to be weird," he said suddenly, realizing that he'd be alone with Kyan's family while he was here at the hospital, but shook his head. That wasn't important right now. "I'm 18, so I'm alright, but I'll call my parents anyway," he added.

Ravi's whole body seemed to go limp with relief; his arm slid off Viola's shoulder and he slummed down into his chair. Kyan was going to be fine. Of course he was! Ravi's father had taken care of him! Ravi just knew his dad wouldn't let him down.
First of all, I'd like you all to contacted your parents, and I'll need Kyan's number so we can call his. And also we've altered the authorities, so there should be a police officer here soon to talk to you about what happened. If you're not eighteen you'll need your parents around for that. In all the stress of the moment, Ravi hadn't even thought of calling his moms to tell them what happened. For the police thing he really only needed his father around since he was still his legal father for reasons Ravi really didn't like discussing. It would still be a good idea to call his mothers though since they didn't even know he went to Home Coming in the first place. They were probably going to be pretty mad about it, but hopefully their concern with over shadow their anger. No matter how pissed they would be, Ravi couldn't imagine how pissed Desmond was going to be with Audrey for leaving him there when the stabbing happened.
"Staying at Kyan's house is going to be weird,"
Ravi's head turned in Toby's direction so fast he though he might have heard something crack. Toby was staying with Kyan? Ravi knew that Toby had been kicked out of his house, he had to know because Kyan flipped out on his about it and said it was his fault, but he didn't know Toby had been staying with Kyan. . . This wasn't good! He knew what they were doing when they were alone?! Probably having lengthy conversations about how much of a loser Ravi was, among other things.
His relief quickly turned into depression with a bit of anger, but who could he be angry at? Not Toby, he needed a place to stay and Ravi couldn't blame him if Kyan offered and Kyan was just trying to help. He just hated having to wonder what they were doing together. He opened his mouth to say something to Toby, but nothing came out. He knew he had no chance with either Toby or Kyan, so what was even the point at trying anymore? They obviously hated him.
"I should probably call my moms." he said weakly as he got up and went to use the phone at the nurses station.

"I have his number, so I can call his mom and dad if you want,"
Professionally it would probably be best if he called Kyan's parents, but Rivers felt, as a parent, that if some thing were to happen to Ravi he'd rather hear it from a familiar voice than a stranger. "Yes, I think that would be a good idea, but I would like to talk to them after you've told them what happened. I think they should know what's going on from a medical stand point." said Rivers. It was also nice to not have to be the bearer of bad news. Having to tell people their loved ones have been injured or died was the hardest part of being a doctor.
The other boy agreed to call his parents and Ravi went off right away to call his moms. Rivers knew all to well how Ravi's moms were going to react and he really wasn't looking forward to having the both of them come storming into the hospital and making a scene.

"I'm 18 too," Viola informed him, distractedly as she pulled out her cell phone. . .which was crusty from blood. . .eurgh.
"I'm sure it'll be fine." she assured Toby.
She dialed in her home number and waited for her parents to answer the phone. She heard the voice of her mother and immediately cut her off.
"Mom? Listen I'm at the hospital. No, no, I'm fine. No I'm not injured. . .It's Kyan. A guy stabbed him outside of school. Yes, he's going to be fine, but I'm going to be here for another couple of hours. . . .all right. Yes I'll call you if anything happens. Or if I need anything. Or if want someone to talk to. All right I love you too. By mom."
She hung up the phone and then pressed the call button for Kyan's home number. She heard his mother's voice on the other end and took a deep breath.
"Hey Mrs Walker. It's Viola. hi, I'm doing fine thanks. Listen, I don't know how to tell you this, but Kyan got into a fight at the dance tonight. The doctors say he's going to be fine. . .no don't panic, we're at the hospital now. Well one of the guys in the fight had a knife and he got--- no it's not life threatening or anything--- I'm sorry. . .I don't know what else to tell you. I'll put the doctor on now. All right. Yeah, no really it's fine. I'm sorry I had to call at all. You're welcome," she said holdign out the phoen to the doctor.

Rivers took the phone from Viola. "Mrs. Walker, hello, I'm Dr. Guiseppe," said Rivers gently. the poor woman sounded close to hysterics, ". . . Yes, Kyan is going to be fine. The doctors are working on him right now, I expect him to be in the recovery room soon. . . Yes, we've alerted the police and they are expected to be here any minute to talk to the kids that were with Kyan when it happened. . . Alright then, I'll talk to you more when you get here." Rivers hung up the phone and handed it back to Viola.
"She'll be here soon." he told her, before turning to Toby, "Have you contacted your parents yet?"

While Dr. Guiseppe took the phone from Viola, Tobias got out his cell phone and pretended to dial the number for his house. He distractedly mumbled something about 'Kyan' 'stabbed' 'hospital' 'all night', holding a one-sided conversation. Of course he wasn't actually going to call his parents... he hadn't spoken to them in a week, since he'd been kicked out by his father.
"All right, love you too," he said, just after the doctor had hung up Viola's cell phone and addressed him.
"Have you contacted your parents yet?"
"I just got off the phone," he said, waving his own cell phone a little as if to say 'see, look, I did it'.

By the time Rivers was done talking to Kyan's parents Ravi was already deep in a conversation with his moms who were three way calling him so they both could talk to him. He'd told them first about how Kyan was stabbed, then how he ended up going to Home Coming. As first they were concerned and just happy he was alright, but now they were yelling at him so loudly Ravi wouldn't have been surprised if the whole waiting room could hear it.
"but mom I-" Ravi whined into the phone before getting cut off by his mother.
Why didn't you tell us you were going to home Coming?!
"Desmond rushed me so much I couldn't find myself phone-"
¡Usted todavía debe haber dichonos! Ravi's other mother was Spanish and had a tendency to forget English when she was worked up. Luckily Ravi understood Spanish, he couldn't speak it very well, but he could under stand what his mom was saying. . . most of the time.
"I know I should have told you but-"
And a boy got stabbed! You could have been killed! And we had no idea where you were! And how did you end up in that parking lot again?!
"I went to meet Audrey, but she had already left me there!"
¡Esa puta estúpida!
"Mom!"
We're coming over there right now!
"You don't have to! Really, Dads here!"
¡No cuido! ¡Estamos viniendo allá ahora!
"but-" Before Ravi could get out a proper response both his mothers hung up. He dreaded what would happen once they got there. It was bad enough having them yell at him on the phone in front of everyone. . . With his depressed mood even worse than before Ravi went over to his seat and slumped down into it.

"She'll be here soon."
"Okay," Viola said simply, taking her phone back from the doctor and looking at it with a bit of disgust.
She pulled out a paper napkin from her purse and tried to wipe some of the crust off of it, but gave up and put it back in her purse.
"Do you think he's out of the OR yet?" she asked Ravi's father hopefully.

Tobias just sat there, taking everything in. His parents would have flipped if they had known how close he was to being involved in a fight that had turned so eventful. He was almost unable to come to terms with the fact that Kyan had been stabbed, could have died... it was surreal.
As Viola questioned whether or not Kyan would be out of the OR yet, Toby hoped that he would be soon. He didn't have anywhere else to go, really, so while he was there he was going to worry, at least a little. He supposed that the doctors would tell them when and if they could go and visit Kyan.

JD waled into the waiting room and approached Dr. Guiseppe. He smiled at all of the kids present which was a nice change considering his line of work. It was nice to be able to tell someone good news.
"We've moved your friend out of the OR and into a patient room. You can see him whenever you want," he informed them. "Dr. Guiseppe there's a patient in room 103 then if you have some time."
HIs head tilted to the side thoughtfully as he looked at all of them and his inner thoughts began to run away with him again. ((So I've been doing nothing but applying to different stores and watchign scrubs for the past week. . .))
You know sometimes it takes seeing someone who got stabbed during a fight at a dance to make you appreciate the things you have. . . whether it's a friend you thought you were fighting with. . . a colleague you've gained respect for. . .or a superior you've always admired. . .even if he does call you Karen in front of everyone.

No sooner had Viola asked her question did JD come over.
"We've moved your friend out of the OR and into a patient room. You can see him whenever you want. Dr. Guiseppe there's a patient in room 103 then if you have some time."
Rivers could hear his lesbian friend's shouting at Ravi the whole time JD spoke. He still couldn't understand how the poor kid survived having to live with those two his whole life. I mean, Rivers loved them to death, but he'd had to live with them for about three years after Ravi was born and that was no fun at all. He quick drew his mind away from that and got back to the matter at hand.
"Thank you Karen." he said to JD before turning to the kids. "Well, I guess that answers your question. You all can see Kyan before the police get here to talk to you. He probably won't be awake, but I'm sure he'll be happy to know you guys were there." He turned back to JD. "Why don't you lead the way for the kids while I check in on that patient. Be extra nice to the squirrelly one." he added in a whisper so only JD could hear.

"Yes, sir," JD said. "All right kiddos, follow me."
He motioned for the trio to follow him, hearing Dr. Cox's words, but deciding, that since everyone seemed upset it woudl be safest to just be extra nice to everybody. He headed off to where their friend was propped up on a hospital bed.

Viola had calmed down enough at this point to quirk an eyebrow at the name Karen. She just shook it off as she followed tha cute young (ish) intern to Kyan's room. She glanced in the window and saw him lying on the bed and hugged the intern quick before going into the room.
"Thank you," she said quickly before going into the room.

((heh, you referred to Rivers as Dr. Cox! heh))
Ravi had sprung up to follow the intern even before his father was done talking. He quickly followed Karen over to the recovery room where Kyan was lying in a hospital bed. After Viola gave him a hug Ravi did the same and followed her into the room. Kyan looked sickly pale and having an IV in his arm wasn't the the best look for him. Ravi numbly to Kyan and sat on the edge of his bed.
