Noah smiled. He’d gotten Christian to laugh, so that was something. One step at a time. “Well, if you’re up for it, I’m sure something can be arranged.”
He wondered if Christian was still being reserved around him just because he was a Priest’s son. Religion wasn’t his whole life, after all. He was capable of being a normal teenage boy – just as immature and ‘dirty’ as the rest of them. He just had to be a little more careful how he acted around his parents, and people his parents knew.
“See? Now, this isn’t so bad,” he said again, hoping for a better reply this time.
(And then they had a fun time.)

Adamo felt his face flush as Dylan approached his table and asked him to dance. He even cracked a smile at the Dirty Dancing reference, which he naturally got, having watched the movie over at the Bregar's house when he had still been pretending to date his friend Ellie.
"Yeah," he managed while nodding, standing up and taking Dylan's hand.
He actually began to enjoy himself for the first time since. . .well since the other night near Liberty Ave. He grinned as they went out onto the dance floor and began dancing in time with the music. He was glad that Dylan was smiling and laughing and not making things awkward for him.

Garrett looked over at Faye after all the drama. Truth be told, he didn't really feel much like dancing anymore.
"Do you want to get out of here?" he asked her, leaning in a bit closer, so she could hear him. "We could go get a bite to eat or something."

“Do you want to get out of here? We could go get a bite to eat or something.”
Faye nodded, her mood changed drastically. She had come, and they had been there for what seemed like forever. She could tell that Garrett wasn’t much into the whole dancing thing, at least not any more now that he’d been teased relentlessly about it, and she didn’t want to stay there if he wasn’t going to enjoy himself.
“Sure,” she agreed, speaking a little louder than normal so that she could be heard over the music which had started up again. Everyone else had followed Brooke and Tadhg anyway...

Garrett waved goodbye in the hallway awkwardly to the group of students collected around the girls bathroom as Faye said, 'We're out'. He tried hurrying along a bit, not wanting to hear anything about the goings on or they'd never get out. He could ask them about it later. As they were exiting through the double doors, he turned again to Faye.
"I might have to make a quick stop at my house," he informed her, a hint of warning in his voice. "I need to pick up some cash to get food."

"I might have to make a quick stop at my house. I need to pick up some cash to get food."
Faye just nodded, noting the tone of his voice but not commenting on it. She doubted that it would be a big deal to pick up a few bucks for food, especially on homecoming night. She knew from the rumors that he didn’t have the best of situations at home, but she wasn’t worried about stopping there for a minute. She was actually a little curious to see where he lived.
“That’s fine,” she said. She had money in her purse, so she was set. “We’ve got all night,” she pointed out.

"O--kay," Garrett said with a hesitant shrug, pushing the door open with his shoulder and leaning with his back against it to hold it open for Faye.

Then Brooke came running out of the bathroom crying. "I'm going to make sure she's ok!" he tole Viola before running after Brooke before Tad left the bathroom.

"I---ok. . .then," Viola said awkwardly as Vinnie left her to go chase after Brooke.
She looked around awkwardly. . .hardly knowing anyone present well enough to latch onto them. Then Tad came back out of the bathroom looking thoroughly depressed and like he'd like nothing more than to go home and write some emo songs. She walked up and threw her arm around him as he said he wanted to go home.
"Are you ok?" she asked, but he shrugged her arm off and said he'd talk to her later about it before continuing towards the parking lot. Shit, he must be really upset if he wouldn't even talk to her about it.

After checking on Brooke, calling Viola, dropping off Brooke, then driving back to the school Vinnie was finally back at the dance. He'd been gone for at least a half an hour and felt beyond horrible about leaving Viola for so long. He ran the whole way from his car to outside the cafeteria to where Viola still was. ((I'm just assuming she's there, if not just pretend I said where she really is or what ever))
Vinnie skidded to a halt in front of Viola and hand to bend over to catch his breath before going in to a string of apologies; "I'm so sorry I had to go, but Brooke is my friend and I just really wanted to make sure she was ok because she seemed really shaken up over the whole thing and I wanted to make sure she got home ok so I drove her and I got back as fast as I could!" He said it all very quickly taking very few breaths.
"Do you want to dance?!" he burst out before taking a few more deep breaths. He was willing to make up for the last half hour any way he could and if that meant dancing he was more than up for it.

Viola had received Vinnie's call, but hadn't been given much time to respond. .. much like now. Vinnie was explaining himself rather quickly. She had been distracted by her cousin's bad mood and hadn't noticed how long Vinnie'd been gone after all. Sure she'd felt slightly put out that Vinnie had decided to leave so he could take someone else home . . . and that someone was Tad's girlfriend. . . .but with the way Vinnie was talking, and what he was saying, she just sort of shook her head and shrugged.
"I yeah. . .I guess. Okay," she said. She could use somethign to take her mind off of everything right now.

Vinnie could tell that Viola was a bit put off by the situation, but he was trying to make it up to her! He truly felt bad for leaving her there!
"Ok, let's go then!" Vinnie exclaimed, his voice a little awkwardly high from nerves. He grabbed Viola's hand and lead her on to the dance floor just as the music stopped and the DJ announced that they were going to 'slow it down a bit'. Vinnie looked over at Viola with a smile on his face and fear in his eyes.
"Ok so, um. . . what do I do?" Vinnie asked. He'd never slowed danced before. Well, there was the one time in seventh grade with some girl who pratically forced him to, but that was six years ago! Vinnie didn't remember how to do it!

Vinnie looked over at Viola and asked what to do for a slow dance. She tilted her head to the side as if considering just what guys did during slow dances.
"Well you've got the choice of waiste or shoulders," she said. ". . . to put your hands. I'm thinking guys go for the waiste and I put my hands on your shoulders."
She'd done this a fair few times before, but it was weird when you broke it down to actually think about it.

"Umm, ok," said Vinnie nervously as he awkwardly put his hands on Viola's waist. This didn't feel appropriate, but Viola had told him to. He was very care not to put his hands down to far. He looked around and saw that some of the couples around them were locked so tightly together that there wasn't an inch of space between them. There was even a couple that was shamelessly making out right in the middle of the dance floor. Seeing that really wasn't helping Vinnie's attitude toward the whole situation.
It wasn't that Vinnie didn't like Viola, he just didn't her to think he had any intentions other than friendship. Plus, this being his first slow dance in a long while, he wasn't sure of what he was doing.
Ok, just get though this on song and it will all be over. . .

((Wow. . .way harsh man))
Viola could tell that Vinnie was anxious about dancing and not the jittery-because-I'm-dancing-with-a-cute-girl kind of anxious either. More the. . .this-is-awkward-and-I wish-I -didn't-have to-dance kind of anxious. She had her arms draped over his shoulders, but tightened them more instead of letting them be loose. She looked at Vinnie seriously, making eye contact (which was possible thanks to her tall stature and her two inch heels.))
"Look," she said, calmly. "I get that you had other stuff to do earlier, so you don't have to do this. I know you're not a big dancer."
And even if you were, I'm guessing I wouldn't be your choice of dance partner anyway, she added mentally. She was wondering if she couldn't find someone else to dance with there, if Vinnie didn't really want to dance: she hated making other pepole feel obligated to do things if they really didn't feel comfortable.

(( : P ))
"No, I want to do this." said Vinnie determinedly, "I just need some help with what I'm doing, that's all." He could tell Viola didn't like the fact that he honestly didn't want to dance, perhaps even insulted by it. He was just going to have to pretend he liked slow dance, but first he needed to get the hang of it.
It wasn't too bad if you had a sense of rhythm, which Vinnie did. All he had to do was sway along with the music. He wasn't risking moving his feet too much for fear of stepping on Viola's which would have sucked with her open toed shoes. He even looked down at his feet a few times to make sure he wasn't getting to close or stepping on her dress.
So far so good, thought Vinnie with a little smile to himself. He was so excited about not screwing up that he completely forgot what his hands were doing; over the past few minutes they'd been dancing Vinnie's hands had slowly creped down to a southern region known as Viola's butt. Once Vinnie realized what he was doing he quickly pulled his hands away.
"I'm sorry!" he exclaim as he blushed and put his hands back on Viola's waist.

Viola shruged and continued dancing when Vinnie claimed he wanted to. She still didn't believe him, but if he was going to keep dancing, she wasn't going to stop him. She found herself wondering how akward things would be if Sebastian had been asked to the dance. She'd be runnign around like crazy, trying tt find a way to keep some sort of happy medium to spend time with everyone. Tad would've have a good laugh at her expense.
She felt Vinnie's hands wandering and her eyes widened slightly. Her immediate reaction was a girly impulse: to slap him across the face, but she resisted that particular impulse.
"It's fine," she assured him when he apologized. She shook at finger at him with mock stern-ness. "But don't let it happen again or I'll have to slug you."

"Oh, I promise it won't!" Vinnie assured her. This was so awkward! Damn his girl retardedness. . . if that's even a word! After awhile Vinnie got used to the whole slow dancing thing, he was even starting to enjoy it. Just when Vinnie really got the hang of it the song ended and 'Gold Digger' came on. Most of the crowd went crazy; one girl even started screaming and jumping in circles.
"Ooooo." said Vinnie in mild shocked disgust, "Not big on rap. . ." He didn't know if this was the time to sit on the side or what. They had just started dancing and he knew Viola liked to dance, but Vinnie really didn't feel like making an ass of himself. Besides, all the couples dancing during this song looked like they were dry humping rather that dancing. That definitely wasn't something Vinnie would do with Viola even if she was his girlfriend.
"Hey, do you want to go get some fresh air out in the court yard?" he offered.

"I ain't sayin' she a gold digger, but she ain't messin' with nooooo. . .yeah me neither," Viola said as Vinnie stopped dancing.
She too noticed all the couples attempting to find ways to fornicate through dresses and suits. Personally, she had been mock ghetto posing while singing: her arms folded in a thug-esque way.
Vinnie suggested some fresh air in the courtyard, and she shrugged her shoulders with her head tilted slightly.
"Yeah sure," she said, glancing around the room once more. "It's getting stuffy in here anyway."

Vinnie snorted and tired his best to hold back a smile when he noticed Viola getting into the song. She wasn't the only one; it seemed like most of the crowd knew all the words to the song. Vinnie only knew the main chorus.
"Come on Kanye," he said jokingly, taking Viola's hand without really realizing what he was doing, "Let's go get some air before you turn all rapper on me." He lead her over to the door in the cafeteria that lead to the courtyard.
((not really sure where I'm going with this, but let's just see what happens shall we? To the court yard!))
