The First Football Game!!!

"Really?" Tad said in an impressed tone. This was done in an attempt to make her laugh. "Don't worry about that, I'll make sure they don't make fun of you. I'll do soemthign riddiculous to divert their attention."

[brooke]

Brooke did, in fact, laugh. "Aren't you glad you chose me? You're already the talk of the school, and you've only been here a week. Congrats! It took me four years to build up a respectable high school reputation.

At the mentioning of doing something riddiculous to divert their attention, she added, "Which shouldn't be too hard." Brooke wondered if they were comfortable enough around each other to make those kinds of jokes. She guessed that she'd see soon enough! For some reason she found herself very comfortable around Tadhg, like she'd known him forever. It was nice.

"Damn, and I've spent the last three trying desperately to tarnish mine," Tad said.

He cocked an eyebrow at her when she mentioned his being riddiculous and then grinned.

"That's just one of my many great qualities," he said raising the fry container to his mouth and trying to eat one. "That and my oh so smooth eating tactics."

[brooke]

Brooke was glad that he knew she was just joking. It'd been such a long time since she had a decent conversation with another guy; Blane had been possessive and rarely let her speak to other guys without getting upset about it.

"Subtle," she commented, eating some of her own fries. "I can't wait to see your other great qualities," she added, in a would-be-sultry tone, but couldn't keep herself from giggling.

Even though Gogo was in marching band and was supposed to be there before the game she didn't feel as though she had to show up until half time. She walk to the stadium from her car smoking a cigarette and reluctantly throwing it aside once she was inside the fence. Her uniform was very sloppy looking a wrinkled, but she really didn't care. As she past her friend Vinnie she gave him a quick nod and moved on to her section; the flutes. She saw all the usual bitched and randomly fucking Garrett was there sitting next to Audrey. Gogo pulled some random girl out of the way and popped a squat next to Garrett.

"Since when do you play flute?" she asked him.

"I'm glad my wonderful, and sexy qualities are making you giggle," Tad said in mock offense. "Hey do you want to come hang with us on your break? I don't know if you had plans to hang out with that Lena girl or whoever you mentioned."

[Garrett Speelers]

Garrett made to protest when Gogo pushed the girl out of the way, but coughed instead.

"I don't play flute," he said. "I'm just here to talk to Audrey and Desmond."

[brooke]

"Lena?" she asked, fighting the urge to laugh. She had seen Vinnie up with the band and realized that Tadhg probably didn't know the two were related. She cleared her throat. "No, not at all. She's... well, let's just say the two of us don't have a whole lot to say to each other at the moment." She didn't want to bring up the fact that she was Blane's new girlfriend.

"Lead away," she said, since they were his friends.

[vinnie]

Vinnie was about to reply to Viola when Gogo came along, late as usual. For as long as Vinnie had know Gogo she always had been doing very self destructive things. In Junior high it was eating disorders and now in high school it was drugs and alcohol. Every time Vinnie tried talking to her about it she'd tell him to fuck off or something. Vinnie knew Gogo had a horrible home life and childhood with her parents being neglecting not to mention the fact that they're drug dealers, but Vinnie never accepted that as an excuse for Gogo's actions. It was her choice to start using drugs, nobody made her do it. Vinnie then realized he'd been spacing out for a second.

"Sorry, Gogo distracted me," said Vinnie sincerely, "What were you saying?"

[audrey]

"Nice of you to show up Goho." Audrey said coldly to Gogo. She was annoyed with band too, but she still showed up on time. Audrey used to think Gogo was cool, but then her drug abuse got way out of control and she was not so cool anymore.

Tad walked with Brooke up to his group of friends. He grinned up at them and shot Audrey a warning look.

"I have returned," he said jokingly. "Oh hey, Brooke this is my cousin Viola, and her friend. . .Ravi."

[brooke]

Brooke smiled and waved to Tadhg's friends. "Nice to meet you Viola. Ravi." She nodded to each one of them in turn, figuring that Ravi must've gone to public school with Tadhg's cousin. She reocognized most of the other students as kids from St. James, most of them Seniors, with a few juniors and underclassmen thrown in.

"Enjoying the show?" she asked, motioning to the other school's marching band. "They're nothing compared to you guys."

[Viola Hastings]

"It's fine. I wasn't sayng anythin important. Just that marching band is fun," she said.

Then Tad came back with a girl, and she couldn't help but grin in patronizing way at her cousin. His arm looked pretty friendly on the girl, and she like to tease him a bit.

"Hi Brooke," she said waving back at her. "So, Tad is this your girlfriend?"

[Desmond Giuseppe]

"Hi Brooke." said Desmond Kindly, "Looking good down there with the cheer leaders, by the way. routine-wise anyway; I've always hated the uniforms. I mean, red and yellow? Not cool. I keep writing to the school board telling them that I would be more than happy to design some new uniforms for the cheerleaders as well as the band, but sadly all of my letters have gone unanswered."

"I had car problems." Gogo said simply.

Tad rolled his eyes at Viola but felt pretty good about beign able to answer this question.

"Thanks for being so blunt," he said. "But yeah, as a matter of fact she is."

He grined at Brooke. It was nice to be able to say that again, and actually be happy about it. It had been a while since his last girlfriend: abotu a year, but she'd gotten a little weird towards the end.

[brooke]

Brooke held her breath a little as Viola came right out and asked if they were officially dating. Tadhg answered immediately, and it was kind of cool to have everything seem finalized. The second somebody else finds out about a relationship, it was officially a relationship.

She smiled at Tadhg again before replying to Desmond. "Yeah, I'm sure anything you'd design would be better than what we have now... but we could only choose from three styles, and this was the best option." Brooke shrugged. This was her last year on the squad, so she really didn't care about future uniforms. "But thanks," she added, not letting the compliment go un-noticed. "I try."

"You guys looked pretty good during the pregame show. I really love the music this year!"

[Elliott James]

Elliott opened his eyes, shining bright with confusion, and looked at his friend as he felt hands leaving his face. Dumbstruck. Dumbstruck was the perfect word for this situation. Thomas' own eyes were wide and dilated, looking into his intensely, and Elliott just did not know what was going on. Where?... What?... He became aware of every sensation in his body - his breathing was erratic, his heart beating quickly. He could still feel the warmth of Thomas' touch on his face. He couldn't - god, no, he couldn't think.

His mouth opened and closed a few times before he abruptly stood and made his way down the stands and out of the stadium.

[audrey]

"Woo! Noobies got a girlfriend!" exclaimed Audrey. She was so glad that Tad stopped being a retard and asked Brooke to be his GF, she could only tease him for so long about liking her. In fact, she hoped her teasing got him to do it! She poked Garrett's shoulder. "Hey, if noob can get a girl friend then so can you! Or boyfriend, it doesn't really matter. I'm sure Desmond can introduce you to some nice boys."

[Desmond Giuseppe]

"Why thanks!" said Desmond, "Pirates of the Caribbean. I like pirates. . . . and I like the music too." Desmond let out a small giggle, "Seriously, I would totally fuck J. Depp in that movie, he's so goddamn hot in it. Pretty much pirates in general, I dunno: I have a thing for hot pirates. I wish our hot drum major had to dress up as a pirate, that would just make my life. Let me tell you; it's never hard for me to keep my face on the Drum Major and not my drum. Next game watch him while we perform; he thrusts his crotch when he conducts! HOT!"

[Ravi Malone]

Ravi tugged lightly on Viola's sleeve to get her attention. "Um, do you think Kyan will be at the Diner tonight?" he asked hopefully.

[vinnie]

"Hello Brooke, it's very nice to meet you." Vinnie said with a smile, but he wasn't able to get a word in edge wise after that; Desmond took over which was usually what Desmond did. Vinnie felt a little bad for Brooke; she had to feel a little out of place her being a cheerleader thrown into a sea of band kids. Vinnie hoped everyone would be nice to her and he knew he would have something to say if they weren't.

"Can't you think of something more original to say than the gay shit Audrey?" said Gogo flatly. She didn't really care, she just like pushing Audrey's buttons "Poor kids probably horribly sexually confused because of you." She turned to Garrett, "I think you're straight." Even though Gogo came off as a bitch she hated when people got made fun of when they didn't deserve it and she didn't believe in making people feel like shit just for the hell of it. Just because she was a drug addict didn't mean she doesn't have principles.

[Garrett Speelers]

"Thanks," Garrett said consfued that Gogo had stood up for him. "See Audrey, some can see that I'm not gay."

[audrey]

Audrey glared at Gogo; how she spoke to Garrett was none of her fucking buisness!

"Yeah, a fucking drug addict, Garrett." said Audrey flatly.
