"Just talking to good old Iona here, and waiting for Elliott," he replied, gesturing. "What have you got there?" he asked, glancing at the record. "Ah, Queen, nice choice." He probably would have said that about just about anything she might have had - he was in such a good mood, though he really did enjoy Queen. Elliott had gotten him into a lot of classic rock. "How about you?"

"Oh, well soccer practice got cancelled, so I decided to check out some of the stores I'd never been to. And I've been wanting this album for a long time," she explained.

Between trying to cover his bruises and casting casual glances over toward the cute boy, Jude didn' t even notice the other boy walk up to him. He nearly dropped the CD he just picked up out of shock, but quickly covered it up.
"Oh, I'm um, just looking for a CD by the Decemberist." he said.

"Very cool..." he replied. "It's a good album."
He looked over at Elliott and the other guy... and felt something terrible shooting through him. He was jealous now? Oh god. Very quickly, he focused his attention back to Vi.
"So you play soccer? I'm terrible at sports," he said. His mouth was dry.

"Ooh, good band," he replied. They were a Thomas band. "Their latest release, The Crane Wife, is on display up at the front, and their older stuff is right... over..." he looked around, and moved a step over before flipping through a couple stacks. "...here." One of the things he loved about working here was that they always had the older stuff, and they had both popular and obscure music. It was music heaven.

Viola quirked an eyebrow as she followed Thomas's gaze, but she kept her mouth shut.
"Yeah I've been on the team for 7 years," she said modestly. She was a huge tomboy when it came to sports and personal interests.

"Awesome." said Jude looking at the front where the kid pointed and then where the other CDs are, damn he was cute "Um. . . I guess I'll take them all." he said with a shrug. He had the credit card with him that his father had given him which ment he pretty much had unlimited spending money.

Elliott's mouth formed an 'O' of surprise. All of them?
"Oh, right. Sure," he said, trying to cover up his shock. The days when he could turn over his paycheck to Iona every two weeks were long gone - he needed to save for college. "Let me grab you a basket," he replied, smiling. This guy must really enjoy music... it was a sentiment Elliott could understand. He walked briskly to the front of the store, grabbed a basket, and brought it back. "Did you need help with anything else?"

Jude just remembered his copy of The White Album had been skipping a lot lately. "Yeah, do you have The White Album?" he asked, "Mine's being kinda sucky and I need a new one."

"Yeah, of course. Did you want vinyl or the CD?" he asked. The White Album was one of the Beatle's most successful albums. Elliott liked the Beatles a lot.

"Wow, Yesterday and Today? Good find. We haven't been able to get our hands on that one, not even a third state. We've only got the second cover," he replied as he led the kid over to where the CD was located. The divider in front of the CDs said 'the Shoes' as opposed to 'the Beatles'... he looked over at the kid to see if he would understand the reference.

"Oh..." Elliott started, a little caught off-guard by the boy's cursing. "It was a press conference the Beatles had in 1964... someone asked Paul McCartney how they got the name. He said he didn't know, but the name could have been anything, and then Lennon agreed, and said they could have been called The Shoes..." he explained hastily as he blushed furiously. Now he felt pretty stupid for putting it there.

"That's such an obscure reference." said Jude, "And Lennon knew damn well how they got the name Beatles; he came up with it for Christ sake! Him and Stu Sutcliffe. They wanted to think of a name with a double because there was a band calling themselves "The Crickets" at the time and "crickets" refered to both the bug and the English sport cricket. Lennon would tell people this story how he had a dream where a man rode over to him on a flaming pie and said, "you shall be called Beatles with an 'a'". John just like to be a smart ass and that's why he's my favorite."
