Elliott sighed with relief - he hated feeling stupid in front of other people. He'd only just gotten used to socializing on a regular basis. Feeling better, he smiled and walked over to where Vi and Thomas were. "Hey Thomas... hello again," he said, nodding to them. The store was empty, Iona wouldn't mind if he took a minute.

[Thomas Wells]

"Ah, hey Elliott. How've you been?" Thomas asked, brushing some hair out of his eyes. He realized that it had only been a day at most since the last time they'd been together... but somehow it seemed so much longer.

[Viola Hastings]

"Yeah, hey again," Viola said awkwardly. She was still here even after he had been with the customer. "I'm goign to buy this. . .some time today. . . I swear."

[Elliott James]

Elliott nodded at Thomas, who was acting sort of funny... maybe he liked this girl? He grinned at him knowingly.

"Hey, don't worry about it. Thomas practically lives here, as do I... you're totally welcome to stick around." He was hoping that this girl would maybe make Thomas happier than he'd been since he got the news he'd been kicked out. It was unclear to him why the news upset his friend so much - he was always talking about how he hated the school, and how he couldn't wait to leave. But for some reason, he'd been in a funk. Maybe a girlfriend would cheer him up...

[Viola Hastings]

"Oh great," she said. "I just didn't want to seem like the creepy girl who's just hanging around."

Viola found herself wondering why she spoke, sometimes. Why didn't she just slap a sign on her forehead that said, I'm awkward.

[Thomas Wells]

"No, not at all," Thomas added, though secretly disappointed. He.... what? Wanted Elliott all to himself? God, he sounded like a prick.

[Viola Hastings]

"Well, that's good," Viola said feeling a sort of awkward tension. "I think I'll pay for this now anyway."

She put the record on the counter and began rumaging thorugh her messenger bag for her tartan wallet which, once retreieved, was unclipped s o that she could pull out the twenty inside.

Elliott nudged Thomas and nodded his head toward Viola with a smile on his face. He'd never known Thomas to be shy... maybe he just needed a push in the right direction.

[Thomas Wells]

Thomas looked at Elliott, confused. What was -- oh no. Ohnononono. Oh Elliott, no. I... I tried to like her. I did. She's nice. She's great. But... she's not... she's not you.

Of course, instead of saying this aloud, he just shook his head with a sad grin.
